Overall Review:

I only have Limited Basic cable and have enjoyed connecting my TV and computer directly to the wall to enjoy local HD programming and DVR functionality through Windows Media Center. Then, greedy Comcast encrypted the local Limited Basic programming, requiring a DTA box at $1.99/month and the HD Technology Fee at $9.99/month. I tried setting up an antenna but there were 2 local stations I could not receive reliably. After going to my local office and obtaining a CableCard (which turned out to be free), I was able to use the HDHomeRun to continue watching and recording programming through my Windows Media Center PC connected to my TV. I struggle getting DLNA to work on the rest of my devices, but I'm able to stream to my Android tablet using InstaTV Pro (a $5 app). This app was at one time also available on iOS, but was pulled due to a licensing issues (the developer states that it is just temporary, but it's been this way for a few months now).

Setup with Windows Media Center was a little confusing. Windows Media Center simply stated that my system was not capable of viewing digital cable (even though it was). It turns out I just needed to download the "Digital Cable Advisor" program from Microsoft (why Windows Media Center couldn't simply direct me to this download instead of just stopping me cold is beyond me).

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase although setup was a little tricky. The HDHomeRun is saving me $12/month and gives me the ability to record shows with Media Center which I wouldn't be able to do with Comcast's DTA boxes.
