Works well in Dell Servers 03/05/2015
This review is from: AMD FirePro V3900 100-505860 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 Workstation Video Card, Brown Box
Pros:
Easy installation.
Plug and Play in Dell Servers.
Comes with low profile bracket.
Works as expected.
No additional power needed.
DVI-I analog output capable, for those who need to use a DVI to VGA adapter.
Cons:
Doesn't come with a DVI to VGA adapter if this is something you need for your environment.
Doesn't come with a drivers CD in the box. It directs you to download the latest version from AMD's website.
The AMD graphics driver installation package is too bloated in my opinion, even when doing the custom installation option.
Overall Review:
I did not put this card through its paces and stress it. I needed this card for a Dell PowerEdge R210 II server running Windows 7, because the onboard Matrox graphics processor did not have drivers available for that version of Windows. We needed some basic graphical performance that the Windows "Standard VGA Adapter" driver was just not able to deliver.
