Pros:
-great colors right out of box
-can set response time to 6ms GTG
-no back light bleeding or dead pixels
-it's IPS!
-newer version A01 now shipping fixing A00 issues
Cons:
-limited control over color/adjustments
-not a fancy appearance
Overall Review:
I was ready to step up to a 4k for mostly video work - but I also wanted to be able to game with it a little. This monitor caught my eye but I saw that many were complaining about display port issues when coming out of sleep mode. This was all on version A00 the initial run of this monitor. I fonund this monitor on sale for just over $500 and took a chance. Boy am I glad I did. Fantastic picture right out of the box. Really crisp and sharp. Mine had no backlight bleeding and zero dead pixels. I noticed my monitor was version A01 so I tried to recreate the sleep problem glitch. It's fixed! No display port probs at all! Tried it over three or four days waking from sleep dozens of times. No problem! Runs at 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz. Awesome! So then I set the response to "fast" (6ms) and tried BF4 and GTA V. Wow. My jaw almost hit the floor. BF4 looks stunning. Absolutely stunning. Very little if any ghosting and it played great. I set MSAA to x2 and turned off Ambient Oclusion and was staying around 50 FPS (I have an i7 4790k and a MSI Gaming GTX 980 4GB). GTA V looks amazing too. High settings 50-60 FPS. I'm getting a second 980 soon so I'm not worried about frame rates right now.
Very - very happy with this monitor. Some say it's "plain looking" (the monitor not the screen) but I like it. And it feels well made and very solid.
If you have the graphics card to push it and have been considering stepping up to 4k you should look at this monitor. I so glad I did.
