Great mount with a small flaw

Pros:
This is a fantastic mount as it provides the weighted base as well as the mount device. I had one of these stolen out of my car (together with a 5-y-o GPS) and immediately bought another one to hold my phone I liked it so much.
Cons:
The second one of these I bought had a bad suction cup. It would stay connected to the windshield but not the weighted base (I preferred using). After complaining in a review, I was recommended to clean both the base and the suction cup with ethanol. This did not help.
I ended up using gorilla glue to attach the suction cup and the base. This has worked beautifully! In reality, is there any reason to disconnect these? I am much happier with this setup and have never wished for the ability to separate the base and the holder.
Overall Review:
Reading other reviews, it seems I am not alone in getting a bad suction cup. For this price, even if you get a bad suction cup, simply glue them together and you are set. Fantastic purchase!
