Rosewill FBM-02 Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: 1 month to 1 year

4 out of 5 eggs Inexpensive, compact, decent. 06/18/2013

This review is from: Rosewill FBM-02 Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is decently stylish and very well priced.
The compact form factor is great and it fits standard ATX PSUs.
Includes thumb screws for the side panels.
Front IO cables are plenty long enough.
Packaged in a thick box with plenty of form fitting foam.

Cons: As is expected on a case in this price point its made from thin stamped steel panels which results in some sharp edges on the inside.

Its a bit flimsy but its not weak enough to be concerned with it.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this case so that I could pass my wifes old GA-A75M + A8-3870K APU setup along to my brother inlaw when I upgraded her to a 2500K and it worked perfectly. The cost of the case made it ideal to gift my old hardware to a relative.

I would have preferred a 120MM rear exhaust and side intake but you cant expect the world when your pricing a case at this level.

Overall if your building on a budget and looking for a nice looking M-ATX case this is an excellent choice.

5 out of 5 eggs Durable, Spacious 04/21/2013

This review is from: Targus Black 17" XL Notebook Backpack Model TXL617

Pros: This backpack can hold alot of stuff. At one point I was carrying 6 classes worth of books, my 17" HP Elite Book, 10" tablet, portable wifi router, a change of cloths, and a handful of accessories for my electronics 4 days a week at college.

It is quite durable, I've been using my backpack since the fall of 2010 without fail and I still carry it 4-5 days a week.

One of the only bags that can comfortably hold a 16:10 aspect 17" or an 18.3" laptop.

Cons: The plastic buckle on the waist strap is kind of fragile. I managed to break mine off about 9 months after owning the bag. Its not a big deal but be careful not to step on it or let it catch on furniture.

Other Thoughts: Overall I couldnt have asked for a better bag for the price. My wife carries a bag that cost over twice what this one did which would not be able to hold my laptop, and its not wearing as well as this targus bag is.

AMD A8-3870K Unlocked Llano Quad-Core 3.0GHz Socket FM1 100W Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6550D AD3870WNGXBOX
  • Verified Owner
  • Owned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Good power profile, it consumes very little power when idling.

Unlocked multiplier makes it much easier to overclock than the A8-3850.

The iGPU is strong enough to play even some of the latest games at 720P on high. The iGPU also supports OpenCL acceleration so applications like the Adobe Creative Suite which can utilize that technology will receive huge speed boosts.

The CPU is plenty fast enough for gaming and overclocked to 3.6Ghz or higher these are pretty stout. I also used this CPU to convert video files for a while when my main system was down.

Cons: No level 3 Cache so multithreaded workloads take a very small performance hit compared to an equivalent Phenom II CPU.

Not the greatest overclocking chips around.

Other Thoughts: I run this chip @ 3.7Ghz paired with a Radeon 6670 1Gb for AMD Dual Graphics and it plays games just fine. It was my wifes main computer for over a year, but has been demoted to the living room media PC where it now plays steam games, and streams media from my NAS to my 52" TV.

The new Trinity based APUs are slightly faster than these, but they are still a contender and if you can find a combo deal with a nice motherboard you can likely save alot of money while not sacrificing a lot of performance.
