G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C11D-16GZL

Pros: Great product. Looks awesome. PNP or plug n play. Drop in check BIOS and did have to make minor adjustment to get speed to rated speed. I am thinking motherboard issue. Simple adjustment and no problem

Cons: None

Overall Review: Heavy and I wish was about $50 cheaper. Market demand and prices.

Most Critical Review

YES these are ST3000DM001

Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive
Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive

Pros: These expansion drives were package OK. I have read many stories that indicate shorting at the USB connector. In this case I cracked the case open and pull the drive from the EXPANSION unit.

Cons: Well, I never got this drive to work in my computer as a STANDALONE. Look you better check to see if your computer BIOS are up to date and support EFI/UEFI. It turns out these problem was found in the late 90's before drive push 150GB, all the BIOS only supported no more than 137GB, forcing people to upgrade BIOS and or system, or buy an expensive HD controller that did. My system will only support up to 2TB as 90% of all system board between 2000 - 2010. It turns out for the few extra $$$ the motherboard companies chose not to support the EFI/UEFI standards and thus you might be able to see the drive, but not in whole you must partition into a 2TB and 1TB. So caution buying this unit if your are not up to date. In my case I was considering a NAS box and the price was GREAT>

Overall Review: Looking to move these to a NAS drive. Did not find the drive to be compatible to the NAS unit continue with different drives.

What the HECK. I bought 3 of these drives. Suppose to brand new SATA3 7200 rpm. Not so fast this is a SCAM

WL 3TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Desktop Hard Drive (For PC/Mac/DVR) w/1 Year Warranty
WL 3TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Desktop Hard Drive (For PC/Mac/DVR) w/1 Year Warranty

Pros: The drives where shipped fast and LOOK good. Did work

Cons: These drives are faulty! I ran 10 days of test after the person I sold these to complained. Non of these drives ran at 7200 via the test. Only 1 reported SATA 3 transfer speeds, one NCQ did not work and ran at SATA 2 transfer speeds, the last one ran at SATA 1 transfer speeds. I thought maybe it the port. No dice test all them on different ports and got the same results. I will be returning this junk. How dare me switching to WD from Seagate or Hitachi. To confirm I have 3 Seagate 3tb SATA3 drives and ran the same test. ALL PASSED perfectly.

Overall Review: No, how can I recommend defective equipment to others. For the normal person they would have just got ripped off. Serious, buy Seagate or Hitachi........... For me just thousand of lost $$$ in trouble shooting these drives.

AMD

AMD A10-7850K - A-Series APU Kaveri Quad-Core 3.7 GHz Socket FM2+ 95W AMD Radeon R7 Desktop Processor - AD785KXBJABOX
AMD A10-7850K - A-Series APU Kaveri Quad-Core 3.7 GHz Socket FM2+ 95W AMD Radeon R7 Desktop Processor - AD785KXBJABOX

Pros: AMD APU technology really are good. Performance is good considering the price point. If your looking for extreme dig deeper in the wallet black edition I7 with no gpu and discrete 690 or 7990. But for $500 less you get a great performer add a discrete crossfire solution and you have a really strong gamer. BTW XBOX and Playstation both use APU and discrete in their design. CISC technology is dying off for ARM... RISC this had to happen. But I am a old die hard and AMD for the money is my winner.

Cons: APU is a bit warm. This requires a better cooler than the factory supplied, so add $40 to the GPU cost. At that price point you could get I5 and intels horrible built in GPU. The APU runs 50C and 32C with off market cooler. Game mode pushes back to 52C for me.

Overall Review: AMD............ Thanks for all the great processors. Just wish you could make a cool processor at I7 performance and at A10 prices.

Bad ....GAMER

Pros: What I like. The sexy Blue. The ESATA seat by the power button. The great drive bays, the easy to build. The water cool capabilities. The fans that come with it. For a delicious price too.

Cons: The case should be 100% screw-less.

Overall Review: Once upon a time......... Oh I guess that another story.
