6 years old tower 4/9/2020 4:56:11 PM

Pros: everything still works that is not broken

Cons: usb ports don't work well with pull out computer desk keyboard shelf. breaks the usb ports, perhaps tower could have a recessed front nose where the usb ports from the pull outs.
Fans get dirty and need cleaned often, havn't had to replace these ever.

Overall Review: I want to buy another one but not sure if they still make them.

Hated It At First.. 5/25/2019 2:22:51 AM

Pros: Storage space, with some $2 adapters you can get this case to house 11!!! 3.5 inch drives and a 2.5 inch SSD taped somewhere in the case. It's made a wonderful home for my Plex server since I retired it from gaming rig duty.

Cons: Looks, dust filtration could be a lot better, need tools to take off top panel.

Overall Review: I wouldn't recommend this case at all for a gaming rig but man does this case make a nice home for a media server. Some of the best money I've spent on a case in all my years of PC building.

A mixed bag 6/2/2018 10:06:00 AM

Pros: The SATA port on of the case is a pretty neat idea. The abundance of USB ports is also a plus.

The open top & spacious interior keeps everything running cool. And the LED fans on the front are a nice touch.

Cons: The rubber feet were a problem: My case shipped with only three, and by the time I got everything installed & positioned, another foot had worked itself off. Rosewill customer support responded well & shipped another.

Running cables to the hard drives interferes with the closing of the case. It's really too tight to close smoothly...and the more drives that get installed, the worse the problem gets.

The metal hinges are rather weak and I bent one out of shape almost immediately while trying to get the case open (aggravated by the aforementioned cables).

Overall Review: I didn't notice the top was 75% mesh--which doesn't thrill me, but that's on me.

The tipping point for buying this case was a promotional free mouse (mouse is great!). I'll probably not continue to use this case for my primary desktop in the long term, but am not in a rush to replace it.

Excellent Cooling with 5 pre-installed fans! 4/15/2018 5:25:00 PM

Pros: - A case with 5 pre-installed fans is unmatched with any PC cases. Fans are working more silently than Cooler Master Sickle 120 mm that is working at 7 V. There are even more fan spots.
- Cable management is easy and effective.
- There are top, middle and bottom 2.5 inch Drive cages. I removed top and bottom, and left only middle part for better air flow.

Cons: - None at this discount AND rebate price point

Overall Review: - 3.5 inch bay front intake fan spot is pointless. The air goes out at the nearest top exhaust fan without cooling any PC part.
- My RX 580 had a lot of heat throttling inside another chocking mini tower case. It became a different beast when I moved it into this case. I love this case!

Only a few little things 4/14/2018 8:21:31 AM

Pros: -Enough space for components
-LOVE the top mounted HDD/SSD tray
-More than enough fans
-Fans are quiet
-Nice look for what I'm using it for (will explain later)
-Removable HDD trays
-More than enough ports (especially with a motherboard installed)
-Probably many more pros that I've forgotten

Cons: I'll go in depth on these cons later, I imagine many of them are just due to me
-Trouble with cable management
-No control over fan LEDs
-Removable panel is sort of crooked and makes putting it on sort of annoying

Overall Review: So I bought this on sale for $35 since I wanted to do my first PC build before I went off to college and this had pretty much what I wanted for a cheap price well within my budget. The case had many fans so I reasoned that this would allow me to keep my stock CPU cooler to save more money, and so far that's been correct. Now, I built this for college so I wanted it quiet, and it is; however, this introduces my problem with the bright LED fans since I don't want those fans illuminating my entire dorm keeping my roommates from sleeping. Obviously, this is a relatively easy fix seeing as I can either cut the LED wire, unplug them, or simply get new fans. Besides the lighting, the case isn't really anything fancy with the "gaming" design with numerous angles and shapes or whatever, so that's good for me since I do (probably unnecessarily) worry about theft in college.

Since this was my first build, it may just simply be me but I did have trouble with cable management since I seemed to have to use the same grommets for cables leaving some of them empty with others stuffed. Not sure if this is necessarily a con (in fact it might be a pro) with the case but I couldn't connect one of the PSU cords that goes to the CPU but the case had some circular grommets in the back that allowed me to feed the cord out the back and reach the plug. The back part where you route the cables seems really thin, like maybe .75", and this made cable management a bit tricky. The main door to access the inside doesn't really close nicely for me either, it does close but it's not flush for me. The case was also bigger than I expected (should've read the dimensions) since I expected something around the size of your normal store-bought desktop. Again, many of the cons here might just be me and some of them might not be an issue for you.

With all that being said, it's a great case overall and I plan on keeping this through the years with numerous upgrades going on inside of it. I'm absolutely happy with it and highly recommend it since most people probably aren't in the same boat as me (and even if they are, you can't beat it for the price). So if you're thinking about getting this, I would definitely recommend it, especially if it's on sale, but it is also well worth the $50 it's going for now.

Layout Problems 3/15/2018 3:59:58 PM

Pros: In general the case is well made but it does have some major screw ups in design.

Cons: There is no room for the SATA and power cables if you mount the hard drives in the trays the normal way with the connectors facing the direction that you pull the drives out from. The trays and the case are designed to mount the drives backwards. This means you have to remove both side panels to install or remove drives. The drives slide in the cage on one side and the cables have to be connected on the other. The side window only shows the edge of three drives so this asinine layout isn't due to the Bling factor.

The cables for the case top ports and switches stick down into the top 5.25" bay so you have to be very careful when installing an optical drive.

The motherboard is very close to the top of the case so there's no room for radiators or large heatpipe coolers.

Overall Review: I recommend getting the Blackhawk Ultra case because it has a much better layout.
