It Works

Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model 997123
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model 997123

Pros: It works. Ta-da! The cheapest DDR3-2400 CL11 when I bought this kit with a promotion. These memory sticks don't have rubbish, oversize spreaders which would block a CPU heatsink. A huge plus. The plastic package does not require pliers to rip it open. It only has a few tabs that you can uncouple them with bare hands. That's a premium option in this civilized world.

Cons: I'd really appreciate if Mushkin includes a factory seal to prevent tampering. I can't tell if my memory sticks are open boxed or not.

Overall Review: Eh no, you can't really overclock these RAM. Mushkin's rating is pretty much as far as you can go. This is NOT a complain, though. I'm just telling people who want to overclock their memory sticks: look elsewhere. I'm quite happy with Mushkin. If my sticks don't fail in three years, I'll buy another kit from them for my future computer.

Bent Card

SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100352VXSR
SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100352VXSR

Pros: It works. The Vapor-X heatsink and fans nicely cool my GPU. The fans are running at 60% speed at most even when I play BF3, Bioshock Infinite, etc. at highest quality. You still have rooms to tweak this display card.

Cons: The card sagged within 2 weeks. Sapphire is making another joke --- I paid 300 bucks and I can't even get a piece of aluminum to back my card. The card will take up 3 of your slots. If you want a 2-way Crossfire on your MATX mobo, rethink.

Overall Review: You'll want a pair of earmuffs when Vapor-X fans are running at full speed.

It Works

WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD10EZEX
WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD10EZEX

Pros: It stores file. Windows can read and write files to the harddisk drive. That's it. This model has1TB on a single platter. You know what I mean.

Cons: Vibrations that I can feel from my computer's chassis. WD can put 1TB on a single platter but fail in damping the motor's vibration.

Overall Review: I actually bought two of this model separately. The first one arrives with other computer hardware. Newegg simply warped my drive (in the anti-static bag) with one layer of bubble sheet, and toasted it with a PSU, a mobo, a graphic card and a Intel T-shirt that's compressed to stone hard. I am quite sure that the harddisk drive was constantly smashing with other parts in transit. Not a good idea. The second one is much better. Newegg put the second one onto a set of trays that suspended the harddisk drive from the paper box. That's much more sensible when Newegg was dealing with HDD. The lesson? If you're ordering a HDD with other items, don't think about it. Make a separate order for your precious HDD.

Not Working with Samsung 840 Pro SSD

Rosewill RCA-RU-10-SA3-90-RD SATA Cable 90 Degree Right Angle SATA III 6.0 Gbps, SATA Cable 12 Inches, SATA 3 Cable - 12 Inches, Red
Rosewill RCA-RU-10-SA3-90-RD SATA Cable 90 Degree Right Angle SATA III 6.0 Gbps, SATA Cable 12 Inches, SATA 3 Cable - 12 Inches, Red

Pros: It transfer data. The flexibility is reasonable.

Cons: It is not working properly with Samsung 840 Pro SSD. Yes, the cable transfer data; but no, the locking mechanism doesn't function at all. The locking tab won't click into my 840 Pro SSD. All other locking SATA cables work on my SSD. Com'on, Rosewill. Fix the locking hatch.

Overall Review: The packaging is can't be teared by hand. I suppose making a notch will help a lot. After all, "user friendly" is a big term in the industry now.

Slightly Pricy

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLS8G3D1609ES2LX0
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLS8G3D1609ES2LX0

Pros: Easily overclocked to DDR3 2000 at CAS 9. I simply add voltage and that's it. I haven't experienced any heat issue. Finally, a manufacturer made another low profile memory module that is usable. Personally, I think most of the "gaming" memory modules with supersized heatsink is ridiculous. The heatsinks installed seems to be for marketing use only. Plus, the oversized heatsink fins block CPU coolers all the time.

Cons: This can be slightly pricy for mainstream users, and the performance is not good enough for avid overlockers.

Overall Review: I actually got this RAM for free on Newegg's Z87 mobo promotion. I am very happy with this memory module. However, i looked at the MSRP and realised that this RAM stick might be slightly overpriced. That's the only reason why I gave 4 eggs instead of 5 eggs.

A Power Supply which Powers my Rig

CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply & New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready
CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650 W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply & New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Quiet - it's summer in Washington and I don't hear any noise from the fan. I have to mention that I mount the PSU at the bottom of my chassis, and the chassis is on the ground. My bedroom's carpet might damper noise from the PSU. No Drama - I plug in all wires and it works. No LEDs. Corsair makes a quality PSU which delivers power, not light strobes.

Cons: Nothing really.

Overall Review: If you have a huge case, wires might be on the short side. But then... when you own a huge case, it's your job to get cord extensions. No cable modules and I don't really care. Modern chassis have plenty of room to hide wires. I'd rather pass on cable modulations and save money.
