Worked as advertised
Pros: Worked at advertised speeds... I was smart to avoid RAM with 'abstract' timings, therefore I'm not surprised this worked out of box....
Cons: It doesn't amuse more than any other RAM stick with a fancy cooler but equal specs/price as about 50 competitors
Overall Review: Not d.o.a cool
As years have gone on - WD becoming more unreliable
Pros: 50% chance works as should
Cons: I've used many of these Western Digital Blue drives over the last few years, at first I thought bad luck, but after now about 20 builds with these drives - I've had a few DOA, and most recently the problem others have mentioned which is the drive starts to become flaky showing signs of a corrupted OS. frusterating to diagnose. It began with complaints from a client of his new machine being very slow. Eventually the machine would quit booting to windows. Reformatting doesn't solve the issue.
Overall Review: The 'big two' WD and Seagate are becoming more unreliable, I'll be trying out some of the 'other brands' in the near future after years of loyalty.
Great psu for lower end build
Pros: Spending a bit more for a higher end - but low wattage Seasonic PSU like this reflects someone who actually knows what they are doing. Seasonic imo consistently has the best build quality. The metal's are heavy, the fan looks sturdy and performs well and is quiet. I've never had a seasonic psu die on me. Heavy metals = durable capacitors. (yrs exp. as corporate system builder fyi) 300watts is enough for a rig that's used for basic work and office tasks.
Cons: You can't power any gaming GPU or 6-core i7 with this. (Obviously, and you also didn't spend $100+) Visually it 'looks' the same as $20 psu's
Overall Review: The benefit of a good psu is peace of mind.... even if it looks the same as a cheaper psu
Very impressed with Trinity
Pros: Great for a budget workstation. the integrated video is light years ahead of Intel's integrated, the quad-core is more than enough for basic work tasks. I did several Llano FM1 builds and these Trinity cores definitely are noticeable quicker.
Cons: All my recent reviews of APU's I've done recently get thumbed down heavily because of this, but I'll say it again because it's true. This APU is not for gaming. If you disagree you just have different standards than me.
Overall Review: It's not for gaming
For the price, very good performance. Bad support and documentation.
Pros: I really want to give this product 3.5/5 For the price point - the functionality is great and very in depth. My workplace (Small business with about 30 machines, 15 employee workstations, and an additional 15 servers approximately) began to experience slow network speeds from too much traffic for our old D-Link. After upgrading to this it was like night and day. It may be small and cheap, but the hardware is powerful for a small business.
Cons: Web configuration windows doesn't load properly in Internet explorer 9... you get an inch thick interface with the ability to scroll forever. Pretty much Renders the interface useless in IE... I use it just fine in Firefox however. Just a warning. Navigation isn't the most logical in this interface either... even for an experienced network person. Instructions aren't included... and to get them you'll need to register for 'cisco small bizz' online. It's free, but annoying since who wants to spend time on that, and remember a username/login you'll likely never use again. I needed to set up basic port forwarding. I ended up finding instructions through a disgruntled customer's post on Cisco support forums... who asked several times, didn't get an answer and finally figured it out himself and shared. You must create a 'custom rule' under 'firewall > advanced settings'... Here you define name of connection, define 'TCP' connection (if RDP port forward), and the external port. Then under the actual 'port forwarding' header, you can define simply the internal IP and port... illogical and not straight forward like other routers I have used. No big deal though once you figure it out. My pain is your gain.
Overall Review: Hardware is great, great functionality, just quite the learning curve in terms of navigation and lack of support from Cisco make becoming 'a master' of this router in your workplace just time consuming.
Exceeded expectations
Pros: Exactly like instructions say, just put a few drops in the middle of 'pasty' CPU, solution is a very compound so it disperses over entire surface of CPU with about 3 drops in the centre. After a minute paste comes off like nothing.
Cons: None really... Shipping is more than product cost I guess
Overall Review: This isn't the kind of product that's subject to a paragraph long review that's for sure, long as it does the trick of course.
