So i got my first pc a few years ago and over the course of those 3ish years ive been upgrading the parts, i have a ryzen 9 7900x but im still Rocking the same 4070 from the prebuilt and its starting to show its age, i really want to upgrade it but gpus are SO expensive, the radeon rx 7900xtx is my dream gpu but im not able to drop $900 for it, would it be worth saving for it or is there a comparable card for less?

AMD 's new line of GPUs outperform the 7900xtx not in rastorization but in raytracing. Get a 9070xt you will be happy. or if your on a budget 9060xt 16gig.

Honestly though the 4070 is still a good card. If your dead set on buying a new card sell your 4070 and put the money towards the new cars.
I agree with @Viraco, the 4070 is still a good card, if it is starting to show its age, maybe it is time to lower your settings a bit and consider a thermal repasting.
The 7900xtx I do not believe to be a good value card, the 9070 xt is a much better purchase. You can sell the 4070 and put that money towards a new 9070 xt.
