Good for the money...
- Pros: Aluminum everywhere. Good heat dissipation, fits standard ATX boards. Nice looking finish.
- Cons: Biggest Con is that the power supply was unplugged from inside its little heat tunnel, and if thats not bad enough, it was set to 230 Volts! Good thing i read these reviews and checked it first. Multiple screws misthreaded. I liked the design except for the one screw on each side that holds the top on. They could have gotten rid of those and used some sort of slide motion to remove it. No Vista support for the VFD display. I better get my rebate.
- Other Thoughts: Great for a home theatre machine. Running an ASUS M2N mobo with an MSI video card with HDMI output. Couple that with the LG combo Blu-Ray/ HD DVD drive and you've got yourself a nice little multimedia machine.
Decent HTPC case
- Pros: A steal with the $100 MIR, great price for an all aluminum HTPC with power supply and VFD.
- Cons: Be advised that is a NOT a toolless case, you will need the correct tools to install or disassemble components, the cheap ten dollor tool kit just won't quite cut it. With that said, my installation was a snap, everything lined-up and mounted correctly.
Use LCD Smartie 5.4 to get the front display to work and save yourself the headache. This program is free and you can program the display.
- Other Thoughts: Decent case, don't wait, looks amazing in my AV rack.
GREAT VALUE WITH THE $100 REBATE
- Pros: IF! the rebate comes in price is a steal. good looks, lcd display is nice.
- Cons: need to use up 2 mb fan connectors for the 2 fans on the back. took a lot of guess work & google to make the display run. front dvd cover has a lock & hinge system that will need modding. my MSI 6600gt with a zero therm cooler touches the top cover but still fits.
- Other Thoughts: all in all a great htpc case with lcd display & ir reciever, all works fine with xpMCE, be prepared to do some modding to improve dvd cover, air flow and psu which is loud.
