Great Board
- Pros: Very fast board and great price. I have used Gigabyte boards as well as other MB's in many builds, and they have never disappointed me. For all the people with the SATA troubles, I don't know what to say, but I had absolutely no issues.
- Cons: The passive Northbridge heatsink can get hot and the replacement options are limited because of it's proximity to the PCIe slots. But some premium boards have cheap fans that die quickly and if you don't catch it in time, bye bye MB. It's kind of a catch 22.
Number 2 would be the lack of Mosfet cooling. This would only hinder an overclocker, and not a person building for stock performance, or a person who knows how to install heat sinks.
- Other Thoughts: I can recommend this board for gamers on a budget. As far as the cooling issues, I simply placed some small heatsinks on my mosfets and I can OC without issues. They never heat up where I would burn my fingers on them.
This board also does very well in benchmark tests compared to premium boards. Thumbs up for this board.
Looking for a GREAT Motherboard for your AMD 64?
- Comments: LOOK NO FURTHER!! You just FOUND it!! (No BS.) Bought this board to replace a Abit want-a-be-a-64 bit motherboard and am more then pleased. A joy to set up and worked great from the first time I fired it up, and fired is an accurate discription. It literaly POPPED on. With the dual BIOS, and nVRAID chipset, this little puppy leaves your hard drive(s), and other hardeware, no excuse for not working at their optimal levels. (And thats all before doing any overclocking, which presents the question - Why were you going to overclock to begin with?) Seriously, if you've never been wowed (or even if you have been) by your (or any other) computers performance, get your nitro pills ready because if you don't have a heart condition you will after fire this gun, I mean your computer with this motherboard. Better yet, you can upgrade as you can afford it, even if its little by little. More processing speed - pop in a dual core. Faster video frame rate - pop in an SLI video card. (Both when YOU can afford it - and from Newegg of course.) So, Like I said in the title - Looking for a GREAT Motherboard for your AMD 64? You just FOUND it!!
P.S. I have no vested interest in the Manufacturer or am employed by them.

Top of the Line.
- Pros: Runs my AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ amazing, the Dual Bios and RAID controler are great. running 2 gigs of dual channel DDR and two GeForce 7900 GSOC's on SLI.. Definately would recommend this board to ALL Socket 939 Users.
- Cons: Bought mine open box, doesnt come with ANY accesories.. Including the I/O plate.. had to find one aftermarket.
- Other Thoughts: I Would recommend running a fan over the nVidia chipset, it runs a bit hot.. other then that... Thumbs up for this board!
- Pros: Nice mb mant pci slot holds 4 gigs perfect for gaming
- Cons: pci 16 slot lines right up with north/siouthbridge heatsink so irriplacible and overheats durring 2142 on full
Great board untill . . . . ..
- Pros: Overclocking is pretty easy with this board. Worked perfect for 7 months
- Cons: The NB heatsink sits right next to the PCI-e slot so my vid card hangs over it. Recently I can't keep my ram at its designated latency. If I do set it, the bios resets. This is VERY annoying when you have more than one HDD and it defaults to the one that DOESN'T have an OS on it. Someone else also reported this problem in a previous rating.
- Other Thoughts: If I had experienced this issue during the first 30 days of owning this board I DEFINITELY would have RMA'd for refund. Now it's too late and I'm stuck with a low grade product. If you are thinking of buying this board, be aware of this issue and research other boards. Pay close attention to the bad reviews on every product you study. Those are really the only ones that matter.
