5 out of 5 eggsWork Good For A While

Pros: Great board while it lasted. Had everything I wanted on it when I bought it back Oct 2007. Ran a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ 3.2GHz on this board.

Cons: First board to ever fail on me. would not even post.

Other Thoughts: Im not knocking Newegg an egg cause from what Ive read in reviews this was a problematic board from the manufacture. I did get 3 years of use out of it. RIP!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little board

Pros: Board BIOS is fully upgradeable for most processors (check here http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/M2NE/#CPUS )
Uses older DDR2 memory
PCiE-X16
Uses some Phenom II processors
Ganged or Unganged modes for Memory

Cons: Board is no longer sold here.
Lower transfer rates
DDR2 memory
Single Video port

Other Thoughts: I owned this board for more than 2 years started with an AMD Athlon 64X2 processor, flashed the BIOS to the most recent and installed an AMD Phenom X4 9850, for greatly improved performance

4 out of 5 eggsASUS M2N-E

Pros: Good MB. Very impressed with it so far.

Cons: Problems with interrupts. See below.

Other Thoughts: I bought this MB with an AMD X2 4200 and a 2x2GB set of memory. The MB did fantastic for almost a year. I then decided I needed more memory (I had been planning for a while). I purchased 4 more GB of memory for a total of 8GB. Unbelievable problems.

NOTE: These problems do not seem to manifest themselves until >4GB of memory! You also need a 64bit OS or Linux with PAE extensions to see >4GB of memory!

First, Update Your BIOS! ASUS has released a LOT of updates. If you have 8GB, make sure the BIOS sees ALL 8GB (8192MB's).

Second, if you still are having problems disable your onboard network card, parallel port, and serial port. The MB doesn't handle interrupts properly and disabling these devices will help. Google if you don't believe me. There are some that do not have these problems, but many others are.

I really like this MB but spending a weekend with these interrupt problems really peeved me off.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Junk!!

Pros: 1 star because it wont let me rate this piece of S*** any lower. Newegg shipping rocks

Cons: I cant believe I wasted almost a year on this piece of S***. Right out of the box it refused to boot with my USB printer plugged in. About a month ago the PC just started to randomly shut off- initially I thought it was the 550w coolermaster PS so I ordered a 650w Corsair, no change- even got worse, wouldnt even get through bios post before it shut down. Decided it was the mobo and since ASUS has 3yr warranty, I RMAed it back. Well it was gone two weeks and returned back to me just as I sent it, with zero documentation, no explaination of wether it was good or bad, no report of what thier test results were, nothing!! So I re-installed and got the same response from this board. The solution was a CHEAP Foxconn board that went in flawlesslly and would even boot with a printer attatched!!

Other Thoughts: I have heard that ASUS was putting out subpar components these days, and I guess thats true. This was my first and last purchase of anything labeled ASUS!!!

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Server Board

Pros: Board comes with lots of PCI lanes and 6 SATA ports. Ran it for 8 months on Vista HP x32 with 4GB of PNY, and an AMD 4800+ Built a new system and turned it into a server. Running Win Server 2008 x64 Enterprise like a champ. With no driver issues. The PCIe x4 slot was perfect for my Intel Dual GbE NIC.

Cons: The onboard LAN is garbage, no matter what drivers you are using, it will drop connections and lock up randomly, it never worked correctly and several other people have had serious issues with it. NE has a bunch of good/cheap PCIe x1 Gigabit NICs that will save you a ton of headaches.

Other Thoughts: BIOS upgrade from inside OS is not a good idea... just load it to a thumb drive and save yourself some serious headaches.

3 out of 5 eggsits alright

Pros: the 1st one died days before the 1 yr replacement plane ended.... i got it replaced and the second one has been working for the last 3 or so years

Cons: i noticed with the first mobo the computer would restart for no reason at anytime, the 2nd one doesnt, musta been a lemon

Other Thoughts: i really wish it had 2 pci-e 16 slots!!!! serial port is useless and more usb ports would be cool

5 out of 5 eggs4 years of gaming and running.

Pros: This motherboard is a really strong board. I've played on it for so long and it never failed or overheated. The copper heat-sink on the northbridge kept this board running nice and cool. Plus I hardly ever shut the computer down. Asus is top notch and I don't buy any other brand when it comes to motherboards.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: AMD 3800+ Athlon X2, 2 gigs channeled ddr2 800, Nvidia 7950GT 512 MB

1 out of 5 eggsdon't buy this board

Pros: It worked well for 5 days.

Cons: I bought this board and didn't have time to install it right away. I missed my newegg rma by 5 days. I installed the board it worked for about five days then died on me. The board would not even boot, I could not get to the bios. I sent it to ASUS and they said it had trace damage and for $60 they would replace it. There is no trace damage and I will never buy another board made by ASUS again.

Other Thoughts: If you want to buy this board, get a relacement warranty or ASUS will stick it to you
