Here's a video card for the gamer, engineer or artist with precise standards. Using a GeForce 7900GS processor clocked at 500 MHz with 20 pixel pipelines, 256 MB GDDR3 memory (with memory bandwidth of 44.16 GB/sec), you're not talking "slow display" here!
It has dual DVI connectors (with adapters so they can be used on VGA-style monitors), and an integrated TV encoder putting out HDTV, S-Video or Composite Video. SLI-ready (so make certain your power supply can handle it!), it features HDR (High Dynamic Range) for ever more realistic lighting and display effects. PCI Express support to keep up with that fast GPU, it's Vista ready and can display a resolution of 2560 x 1600.
The next generation of games and hi-res HDR applications is here already, so update to a card that knows how to talk to them.

great card -- avid gamer
- Pros: i have a dual core amd2 socket 2.6ghz (5000+)cpu and a gig of ram and a 21inch monitor. ok here is the rundown of the games i have played it with (no overclocking and just 1 video card=not sli'd)~ plays all the steam games (hl2, ect.) on the highest everything with 1600x1200 and i get about 100fps on average it ~ will play doom3 (and resurection of evil)ultrahigh at about 1024x768 100-200 fps ~ battlefeild 2142 it will play everything highest and 1600x1200 60-100 fps average command and conquer generals (and zero hour) everything highest at 1600x1200 200 fps ~ max payne 2 everything highest 1600x1200 200 fps ~ farcry everything highest 1600x1200 100-200 fps ~ call of duty 2 everything at its highest 1600x1200 100-200 fps ~ ghost recon advanced warfighter everything on highest 1600x1200 80-100 fps average fear (and fear extraction point) will play on maximum everything 1024x768 40-60 fps
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: the fan is not loud at all. i am fixing to get a better moto so i can get 2 of these babies and sli right now i just have 1 pciexpress. evga will give u the choice of upgrading in 3 months to an 8800 like a stepup plan this card is the second best on the market ....plan on taking that option to save me money u want a cheep way to get an 8800/s this card would be ur best bet. id recomend it to every1.
- Pros: Runs Half-Life 2, Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, etc. with all settings maxed. Excellent price/performance ratio. Fan only runs when you're playing a game, and shuts off for normal apps. Isn't near as power hungry as some other high-end cards out there. Runs just fine in a Core 2 system with a 330W power supply.
- Cons: Fan is kind of noisy when it does turn on, but this is true of just about any video card today. If you're concerned about noise, buy an aftermarket cooler, or turn the volume up on your headphones :)
- Other Thoughts: The 7900GS has to be just about the best deal out there right now for gamers on a budget. If you're like me and don't have $xxx+ to spend on a video card, this is the one you want. This card should easily run just about any current game. It should be more than sufficient until some reasonably priced DX10 cards become available.

Runs Great, Gets Hot
- Pros: Runs most apps and games great without overclocking, but once you push the clocks, it becomes pretty nice. I'm running it right now, core@560 and mem@1430 with stock cooling and it still stays below 65C. It'll run Medal of Honor:Airborne with all video prefs maxed out and no ill effects.
- Cons: The fan is a little noisy at full tilt and it does run a little hot, but throw a zalman v700 on it and it'll be cool and quiet.
Great Budget Card
- Pros: Purchased this card to play Oblivion and in anticipation of the next generation of gaming graphical requirements while on a budget.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: If you push the card, it will get hot. Make sure your case has good air flow...
This turned out to be a great buy, thanks to all the prior reviewers who helped solidify my decision to purchase this card. Great bang for the buck.
- Pros: How do you go wrong with this? The price more than justifies what you give up to the 8800's or the GT/GTX's. And SLI to boot... I'll add a second one soon. (Gaming with 3 monitors, not in SLI)
- Cons: Um... none so far
- Other Thoughts: Runs perfect both in XP (Who cares about Vista...I'll never use it) and in Linux. Beryl/Compiz smooth as can be and VERY fast GLXGEARS score.
