Has anybody made this card produce smooth video?
- Pros: The card is excellent for throwing away your money.
- Cons: I have not found anything as advertised about this card yet. You can look at the system requirements on the page above. I advise you disregard them. I have built not less than 30 systems in the employ of others. I have not yet purchased a product which failed to function adequately as completely as this card does. Hooking it up, I can see video through it. But in not more than 5 minutes it begins to freeze even when not recording. All of my system requirements on the machine intended for this card are more than triple the specs.
- Other Thoughts: Be sure in your purchases here that you are able to test everything you buy within the first 30 days. I have the misfortune of being a few days out, or I would return the card for a cash refund. After 30 days, all I can get is replacement, and I am wondering why I would want another box of junk circuits. I have timed freezes on this card to be as long as 4-5 seconds. In every other format, the same machine plays and rips video with perfect precision.
- Pros: card works as advertised, hauppauge has prompt customer support
- Cons: as noted, bundled software sucks
- Other Thoughts: keep in mind this card has only one tuner, so you can't watch one channel while recording another.
- Pros: Easy to work with. Good quality video.
- Cons: Hangs up when you try to surf the channels for some reason. You have to close the program then re-open it to get started again.
