Every computer needs more memory, even if you think you have enough. No matter what computer you have, or if you're building a new system, memory is vital to a computer. Generally speaking the more you have the better the computer will perform. Just make sure which specific type of memory your system requires.
Keeping that in mind, G.Skill's 512MB DDR module is perfect for adding to the performance of your computer. It is a very inexpensive and easy way to increase the performance of any system. Many systems require adding two modules at once, so make sure how many you need. This module is DDR 400(PC2 3200), running at 400MHz, and can fit any designated motherboard. Pick yourself up some of G.Skill's DDR 400 memory and watch things happen!

great price/performance
- Pros: While NewEgg lists this as OEM memory, and some of the lowest priced memory too, it certainly seems to come in retail blister packaging, which was a nice touch. I had no issues whatsoever with recognition on a variety of chipsets and bus speeds from slow DDR266 to the rated DDR400 speed. The form factor is also fairly low profile so it allows for adequate clearance for most small XPC, 1U, and other compact enclosures where cabling and drive bays might make for a tough time w/ adequate clearance and ventilation. I just completed an exhaustive 11 hour test suite that was memory and I/O intensive with zero memory errors. And as always, NewEgg had it shipped cheaply and promptly.
- Cons: I can think of no regrets other than not buying more to stock up for other purposes.
Cheap is as cheap does
- Pros: Cheaper than the next higher cheap stick. With that you can buy a Mojito in a local lounge bar.Holds up fine when using non stressful applications.
- Cons: When putting it to the test such as memory vampire games such as Battlefield 2 i found the ram failing anc causing critical system crashes every 15 minutes. Hard core gamers stay away from this.
- Other Thoughts: Making a computer for a web browser or word processor? This will do you fine. Video editing, 3D rendering or gaming? Not a good idea.
