2 out of 5 eggsTerrible Customer Service

Pros: This is a good solid keyboard, when it works.

Cons: When it doesn't it's the most frustrating thing to deal with. Mine broke within 2 month's use so I used my warranty and sent it back, received it back within a week and turns out the left alt key is broken so I call them again. I get promised that I will receive a free shipping label in my email, after 2 days of no email I call again and turns out the first person just wrote it down as a note to send me a label and never fulfilled it so the second guy tells me he'll send me one within 24 hours. It's been well over 24 hours and still no label, do they just not want me to have a functioning keyboard?

4 out of 5 eggsSolid keyboard, but wish it was fully backlit

Pros: Cherry MX Brown Switches
Price (instant rebate + mail-in rebate)
Build quality
Aesthetics

Cons: Function Lock key works, but does not work as advertised
Not fully backlit
Can't choose backlighting color
(these three reasons are why it only gets 4/5)

Other Thoughts: This keyboard arrived yesterday (4/10/14), and I just wanted to share my experience so people don't think their Function lock key is broken. Basically, the Function lock key does not work as stated in the literature or shown in Newegg's video (or any other videos I've seen). Both the literature and the videos state that the Function lock should work like the Caps lock key - press it once and the key becomes backlit and allows you to access the alternate keys along the F row. However, on mine I have to hold down the Function key in order to access everything, just like a standard laptop keyboard with a Function key. Also, the Function lock key never becomes backlit (all other advertised backlighting works fine). It's not a deal breaker though, but it did make me raise an eyebrow at first and make me think something was wrong with the keyboard. I have no plans to return it since I'm not missing any functionality and I got a really great deal through Newegg. They had a $30 instant rebate and $25 MIR, so the final cost for the keyboard was $58!

I also wish this keyboard could become fully backlit and be available with other colors of backlighting (everything else I have is blue). However, the Quickfire Ultimate wasn't in stock when I decided to buy, which would have given me a fully white-backlit, and it would be $50 more for the Ultimate anyway.

I enjoyed some MMO gaming on it last night, and I look forward to trying it out in some FPS this weekend.

3 out of 5 eggsUneven Rubber Feet?

Pros: Feel to mx browns, 1ms polling, Full NKRO.

Cons: The keyboard does not sit flat on my desk (or counter, or table... my previous one does). I see another user posted the same issue. Placing a nickle under the front left rubber pad mostly stops the keyboard from tilting but now makes it prone to sliding.

Other Thoughts: I am hopeful this gets resolved soon, I will edit the rating and review accordingly. I have sent in a request @ cooler masters site.

1 out of 5 eggsBroken keys after 1 month

Pros: Looks good, cm bowns.

Cons: The r key is already broken. 1 month of use, not very intensive.

Other Thoughts: Never buying from cm again, their website is terrible for rmas.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Mech Keyboard!!

Pros: -uses costar stabilizers just like the most expensive boards you would have to import!
-Standard layout so you can replace keycaps
-Driver-less design makes it easy to use on any computer.
-FULL USB PORT, I can't stress this enough the ones the micro usb end up breaking period, i've had two break on me from two different manufacturers this one will not.

Cons: -Doesn't light up, I knew this when ordering so not really a con
-Driverless design means driverless, no custom settings.
-Will not make breakfast for me no matter how much I yell at it.

Other Thoughts: It was either this or a $300 keyboard, I'm glad I went with this one it has the same build quality built by same people with a little cm storm logo on the back I can live with! I wish I would of ordered the green switch one just to try it out i've tried blues and browns and have liked both!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted..

Pros: Worked great while it lasted. Keys were responsive and had a great feel to them. This was my first mechanical keyboard and at the beginning I was very satisfied. It felt much better than a regular keyboard and there were no problems.

Cons: As with many products, there were a good few complaints about the keyboard not lasting long. As I've done numerous other times I decided to buy it anyway. It turns out that this time those warnings actually rang true for me. Only 6 months in I have run into problems. First the backspace went out a few days ago, then a day later or so the right shift key, and finally today the enter key. So now I have to use left shift to capitalize, erase from the front of a word with the delete key, and physically click on everything in browsers since the enter key is shot. Currently I'm wondering which key is next to go. I'm not sure this holds true for all of their products but I'll probably shy away from CoolerMaster keyboards in the future

Other Thoughts: Not too much to say, I suppose I will be buying a new keyboard ASAP. Just trying to add another warning to possible consumers out there.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard that doesn't work with AMD FXA Motherboards

Pros: -Feels great
-Responsive

Cons: -Doesn't work with my new computer
-Only partially backlit

Other Thoughts: Found out this keyboard doesn't work with the newer AMD motherboards. Got a new computer and couldn't get the keyboard to work. After a lot of troubleshooting and headaches, I finally got a response from Cooler Master saying I need to buy a powered USB hub for the keyboard to work, as the keyboard doesn't work with AMD 990 or 970 motherboards. I am pretty annoyed that I need to buy an addition $20 product to get my $120 keyboard to work with a brand new computer. The keyboard is great when it works though.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard, but...

Pros: This keyboard is absolutely, positively awesome. The tactile feedback of the brown switches is phenomenal. The keyboard is solidly designed and surprisingly heavy. I do not really care for the backlighting, but that is really not the reason why I purchased it.

Cons: This is where the glowing review ends, unfortunately. The second I put the keyboard on my desk I realized that it cannot sit flat on my desk. I tried setting it on different flat surfaces in my home to ensure it wasn't my desk. Indeed, the rubber feet at the bottom of the keyboard are not a uniform height so it cannot lay flat. I have a folded piece of paper underneath one corner as a temporary fix to the issue. These things happen, so I reached out to Cooler Master support. Upon registering my keyboard, it showed that my keyboard's warranty expired in 2002. Mmmmkaaaaayyy, that must be a mistake. I opened up a live chat and spoke with a frustrated yet helpful representative who tried to do everything he could. Apparently Cooler Master is working with a new system and he could not even issue an RMA for me. I was advised that I was the first and only person on a new list of people that will be contacted once they figure out how to use their new non-functional "system".

Other Thoughts: I will continue to use the keyboard because I cannot really tell anything is wrong with it as long as I have paper folded up leveling the keyboard out. I will not be purchasing another Cooler Master product in the near future. I hope to hear back from them soon but you never know. I will update this review if/when I hear back from them.

1 out of 5 eggsTab key doesn't work

Pros: It's a mechanical keyboard with some led backlighting

Cons: The entire thing isn't backlit, and the tab key doesn't work with mine. There's no exscuse for a key not working. I'm paying over $80 for this keyboard, and now I'll have to pay to ship it back.

Manufacturer Response:

Blake,
I'm very sorry for the troubles you encountered with your Quickfire Pro. We would rather you do have a working keyboard, so if you haven't already, you can register for an RMA with us using the Registration & eRMA link I'm including below.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard

Pros: I've had this keyboard for nearly a year now, so it seems appropriate to give it a review finally.

Everything works as it's supposed to. I haven't had any problems that anyone else speaks of about this keyboard. Every key works perfectly, I can get into my BIOS just fine with N-key mode, and the keyboard has a great feel/ responsiveness to it. I don't use many of the extra functions (LEDs, Volume, windows key disabler, etc.), but they all work perfectly. The rubber feet on here have an amazing grip compared to other keyboards that I've used. Keys are also very easy to remove to clean under when hair and dust starts building up.

Cons: Nothing that I can think of, I've had 0 problems with the keyboard and everything works like a dream. There's really nothing that could make the keyboard better IMO.

Other Thoughts: I came from an old membrane keyboard so my first experience with mechanical has been amazing.
