5 out of 5 eggsSTILL GOING!

Pros: Still running after all these years. Daily. I game on it. The system's gotten some upgrades over the years, and is currently sitting with a q6600 in it. Solid. No problems. The motherboard has outlasted everything else in the box aside from the RAM. I've had 2 different CPUs in it, 3 PSUs, 3 different video cards, 3 different optical drives and 2 different hard drives.

Cons: None. This is the best motherboard I've ever bought, and converted me from Asus to Gigabyte forever.

5 out of 5 eggsROCK SOLID BOARD!

Pros: Bought this board in 2007, and it is still going strong 2013.

There isn't a better "Pro" in my book, than a motherboard that lasts 6 years.

Cons: Sadly I feel its time for an upgrade soon and it really does pain me to have to retire this board. It has been overclocking my Q6600 for at least 5 years out of the 6 I have owned it. It has outlasted 2 PSU's, 4GB of memory and 2 GPU's.

Other Thoughts: Don't know much about the latest socket processors, but I would be inclined to try Gigabyte first over any others, simply because of this board.

4 out of 5 eggsFinally Died...

Pros: Served me for 4 years. Great bios.

Cons: It finally failed last night. I got it October 3rd 2007, and it died December 9th 2011. Something near the bottom PCI slot burned out. Not sure what it was, but disappointed.

Seemingly impossible to find a replacement online. I've looked everywhere.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent

Pros: i've loved this board. 2.4 duo-core, 8600gt, corsair 2gb ram etc. works very well. placement of things on the board works for me, haven't had any cramped areas (though i don't use the IDEs so who knows.)

Cons: the overclocking controls are a little tricky to use. (took a bit of work to get ram oc'd to 1066) and only one pci-ex16 could be a problem (thought sli was stupid then i bought crysis....)

Other Thoughts: if i had thought i would use sli i'd have bought one with 2 pci-ex16 slots, but aside that everything else works great. audio is great, vista-32 drivers are perfect

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Great features for the price. I bought this board to replace a GA-965P-DS3 that had problems.(see other thoughts) Compared to the 965P, this board has more rear USB ports, more SATA ports, more fan headers, and overclocks just as well, if not better. (haven't had much time to really push it yet)

Cons: If the positions of the IDE and floppy drive connectors were reversed, this board would be perfect.

Other Thoughts: I really liked the 965P, but it started acting up when I added a tower CPU cooler with a back plate mounting system. (Noctua NH-U12P) Unfortunately, the 965P has too many pins protruding from the reverse side of the board that can short out if your cooler uses a back plate. The P35 still has some solder joints in that area, but they are lower and smoother with no pins protruding through the solder. Just to be safe, I still put some electrical tape on the side of the back plate that touches the motherboard and all is well so far.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: No problems installing it. Works pretty well with Vista. Sleep mode has no problems waking up over and over. 8 USB ports in the back and two in the front are real nice. The manual is relatively clearly written. All SATA ports are AHCI/RAID.

Cons: None I could find yet.

Other Thoughts: Remember to set the IDE drivers to AHCI if you want the modern SATA features and have a driver floppy or stick ready.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome board

Pros: Great board for the money. Has everything you would need in a board. This is the second one I have bought. The first one was mine and the second one for my son. Both ahve been awesome and I like that they are flexible enough to take the new 45nm Wolfdale processor and can overclock easily. Great board.

Cons: None so far on either mine (9 months old) or my sons (1 month).

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: I initially wrote a very positive review about this motherboard. I even included the RAM modules I got for it so that others would not have a problem finding reliable RAM. I really like this board, but I will never buy another Gigabyte product again, nor will I ever recommend Gigabyte to anyone else.

Cons: Unfortunately, I flashed the BIOS on this board a week ago and the board died. I do not overclock. I build high end systems for photographers and graphic designers. They need all the RAM they can get and I use Windows XP Pro 64 bit so that they will be able to take advantage of the RAM.
Dealing with Gigabyte technical support has been terrible. The initial tech I spoke did not know you could enter Q-Flash by pressing the END key as written on page 68, section 4-2-1 of the motherboard manual. He determined that by following their instructions I had somehow caused the BIOS flash to fail. Mind you, I had already done this once before when I first got the board.

Other Thoughts: I finally did get an RMA number and they are supposedly fixing the board. In this process I have spoken to 7 people from Gigabyte. I can tell you that with the exception of the gentleman who got me the RMA number, I have found them all to be lacking in the very basics of customer service.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Linux Server Board

Pros: Everything "just worked" when I built a system with Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 Server, including built in NIC. Used two identical SATA hard drives for software RAID 1 and one SATA optical drive. It has been running stable for over three months without rebooting in a closet with only network and power cords plugged in.

Cons: I can't recall anything negative about this board yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mobo

Pros: Bolted it in, never removed any of the AMD drivers or VIA chipset drivers on the old windows copy. It booted right up and after a reboot...it runs great...No blue screen of death

Cons: could have installed itself?

Other Thoughts: thanks Newegg!! great service as always
