Happy So Far!
Pros: With a 64 MB Kingston SSD, 2 GB RAM, and stripped down Win XP (nlite'd), this machine is fast! It boots up in about 15 seconds and shutsdown in about 5 seconds. If you spend some time tweaking everything that can be possibly tweaked in the OS, this thing can outperform more powerful Vista systems for basic media playback. Fan is only loud when booting up.
Cons: Fan is loud when booting up, otherwise it is almost unnoticeable when sitting on my couch 10 ft away. I could not get sound to go through HDMI when using Ubuntu 10.10 (however I am not very familiar with Ubuntu).
Overall Review: It took me a long time to get everything set up and tweaked, but since that I have been very happy with the performance.
Great HTPC
Pros: Great little htpc. Mine is set up with a kingston SSD, 2gb RAM, Stardock dual hard drive dock, and IOgear keyboard.
Cons: Fan used to be loud until.
Overall Review: I ended up denting the case when I dropped it, so I drilled some holes in it to improve cooling. It didn't make a huge difference, so I just decided to leave the cover off and now the fan rarely makes any noise. So, if you don't mind the aesthetics, it is an effective way to cool the unit.
Not bad
Pros: -Small size -Track ball is efficient
Cons: -Left and right click buttons sometimes do not work as if those buttons are momentarily disconnected. It will take a few seconds (~5 secs) for them to resume functioning.
Overall Review: Other than the left and right click buttons not working sometimes, this keyboard has worked well for my HTPC setup. I like the accurate action of the trackball on the lowest DPI setting. However, I wish there were alternate left and right click buttons near the trackball, so that I can navigate and click on items without having to use two hands. IOGEAR recently announced a new version of this keyboard which also has trigger buttons (similar to xbox 360 controller), which would be nice for web surfing.
Great
Pros: These sound great hooked up to my Sony STR DN1000 amp. The bass is so good that a subwoofer is really not necessary. These are great for music and pretty good for movies in a 2.0 set up.
Cons: These are quite deep so ensure you have enough space.
