GIGABYTE Z590 AORUS ELITE AX LGA 1200 Intel Z590 ATX Motherboard with Triple M.2, PCIe 4.0, USB 3.2 Gen2X2 Type-C, Intel WIFI 6, 2.5GbE LAN

Pros: Seems to be very high build quality Install of other components and Windows went very smoothly

Cons: None that I can think of

Overall Review: Now that I have had the board for a while I wanted to give a more detailed review. CPU: 10600K cooler with Noctua NH-D15S RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 GPU: Sapphire RX 5700 XT SSD: Crucial P5 2TB 3D NAND NVMe PSU: Corsair 1000 RMx Booted up on first attempt (Always pleasantly surprised when that happens). Applied the XMP profile running at 3200 MHZ. Installed Windows 10 and installed drivers. I had predownloaded all of the drivers prior so had them ready to go. Only took about 1 hour from first boot to last of the drivers installed. Have had 0 issues and system is running great. Seems to be a very solid MB. I haven't tried messing with any of the RGB lighting, that's just not my thing. I've preordered the 11700K and will update review when that arrives. Hoping all goes as smoothly with the 11th gen as it has with the 10th gen.

No Remote

Magnavox WiFi Built-in Blu-ray Disc Player MBP5130

Pros: .....

Cons: No Remote

Overall Review: Unit is useless without remote. Description clearly states includes remote. Newegg not responsible for re-certified products. I threw a fit and they agreed to take it back for refund.

Bought two of the 4 TB drives for use in a NAS RAID 1 array.

Seagate IronWolf Pro 4TB NAS Hard Drive 7200 RPM 256MB Cache CMR SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal HDD ST4000NE001
Seagate IronWolf Pro 4TB NAS Hard Drive 7200 RPM 256MB Cache CMR SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal HDD ST4000NE001

Pros: Great Warranty Good Performance Easy RMA Process

Cons: Update 11/13/2023 Second drive is now reporting bad sectors and failing SMART tests. One of two drives died within 6 months

Overall Review: ***Update 12/21/2023*** I finally found a phone number to call for Seagate. They wouldn't help me over the phone but did alert me to the fact that their online chat uses a popup window which is blocked by pretty much every modern browser. Seems stupid to use a popup window knowing that it will be blocked. Anyway, finally was able to chat with someone who was able to confirm they did received the drive and I received a recertified drive as a replacement. I bought these drives due to their supposed reliability but two years later and I have 2 recertified drives as both original drives failed. I have 20 year old Hitachi drives that are still functioning. I don't think I can trust these drives to store important data. ***Update 12/01/2023*** Drive shipped back and delivered to RMA address provided at time of RMA creation. Login to check on status and notice still marked as "Not Received" Notice the RMA address has changed since i shipped back. Trying to contact Seagate regarding this but they have now way to contact them for support. They claim to have live chat support but I see no way on their site to initiate a chat. Not impressed. This was my first Seagate purchase in a decade and will be my last. No Support from Seagate ***Update 11/13/2023*** First drive died at the 6 month mark. Second drive starting failing at 2 year mark. Disappointed since I bought these specifically for the purported reliability but started to think I should have bought a different brand. *********************** I bought two of the 4 TB drives for use in a NAS configured in RAID 1 array. 1 drive started throwing errors and randomly going offline within 6 months. RMA process was simple enough, I had to pay return shipping but Seagate turn around was very quick. Still give 5 out of 5 because of the easy RMA process and based on the reviews it seems the defective one I received is an outlier. Sometimes you just get a bad drive. I bought a pair of Samsung drives over a decade ago, 1 drive failed within 6 months, the replacement drive has been running strong for 13 years. Hopefully, that is the case here as well. Would still recommend. If anything changes I will come back and update the review.

Great Cooler!

Noctua NH-L9x65, Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler (65mm, Brown)
Noctua NH-L9x65, Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler (65mm, Brown)

Pros: Easy to install Cools Well

Overall Review: I am using this on a 10600k and it idles around 28C, will hit 55C to 60C under load. So works for cooling. What really impresses me about Noctua coolers in general, I have several others, is how well engineered they are and how well thought out the product is. The directions provided are excellent and the design is such that install is super easy, significantly easier than other brands I have used. I tried my first Noctua cooler last year and wished I would have tried them sooner. They are the best I have found.

Noctua NH-D15S, Premium Dual-Tower CPU Cooler with NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fan (Brown)
Noctua NH-D15S, Premium Dual-Tower CPU Cooler with NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fan (Brown)

Pros: Fairly easy to install once I understood what needed to be done Cools very well

Cons: Kind of intimidating at first due to size and insane amount of pieces that are included

Overall Review: Initial reaction was "Oh deity, what did I get myself into?" because there are so many parts and the heatsink is so large. But once I figured out which set of directions I needed and then which parts I was using it was much less intimidating. I did a dry run first, installing loosely without putting thermal paste on, and when I did it the 2nd time for real all went smoothly. I installed on a socket 1200 Intel 10600K and it keep the processor cool. Even maxing it out with benchmarks none of the cores got above 65 C.
