Pros: Boots fairly fast
Cons: Refuses to run DDR3 2133MHz RAM speeds on G.Skill RAM rated at that speed even after trying XMP and manual settings. It can only run it at 1333... pretty lame!! Also tried 2 different brands of DDDR3 1600MHz (G.Skill and Mushkin), and it can only run those at 1333 as well....It's also VERY slow to shut down. BIOS has been updated to the latest. Most current device drivers installed on a fresh installation of Windows 10, and the thing takes about 5 minutes to shut down.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It might work, but it's going to remain unopened until I need to use it or sell it. (I'm not going to break the package seal just to test the drive)
Cons: Manufactured in 2009...this pretty much negates any chance for an RMA from Western Digital if the drive goes bad.
Other Thoughts: Sure, the seller says they do a 1 year warranty, newegg has 2 year warranty listed on the product page, confusion or miscommunication there? There is a chance this drive could sit on the shelf in my shop for a year before I need to use it...usually no big worry with a genuinely NEW hard drive as the manufacturer's warranty is usually about 3 years...BIG worry with this drive though because you have to trust in some random seller's "warranty" and not the solid manufacturer's warranty!!! HORRIBLE and unacceptable!!! You really need to list the manufacture date on stuff like this if you're trying to sell it as a "new" drive...READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: cheap price
Cons: comes in a thin cellophane baggy with no driver software and no product information what so ever. it took Windows 7 somewhere between 5-10 minutes to search for an install the driver. It worked ok after that. Just beware, if you're looking to buy one of these to resell in a local computer shop, don't...regular every day customers will plug it in and figure it doesn't work and return it. That or you can type up your own product information on it, because the seller provides you with nothing but the mouse. You even have to do a bit of searching to find the USB wireless receiver... definitely not a product for your every day computer user.READ FULL REVIEW
