Pros: The overclock is stable.
Cons: This board has been RMA twice and is still not performing reliably.
Issues which persist:
(1) Frequent reboots at start. Once it is up and running it is fine.
(2) Has trouble identifying the correct boot disk and goes to the wrong disk with the resulting message of no O/S. Reboot and go to bios and reset the boot sequence and it is fine, until the next time.
Other Thoughts: The time it takes to RMA a product makes me hesitant to do it as I will be without a computer for three to four weeks. As long as it can perform once it is up and running I'll just continue with the irritant of start up.
I would have thought that EVGA would have taken the problem more seriously and fixed it before. Failing that they should offer a new board until all problems are resolved that way the customer is less inconvenienced..
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: The first board arrived functioning but then started an accumulation of issues ending in a non-booting MB.
I returned it to Newegg and they shipped this last one with no problems. Kudos to Newegg.
The replacement started also to have issues. Did not want to shut down completely. Windows would close and log off as would the monitor except the MB ran as if nothing had happened.
Rather than ship it back to Newegg I decided to try to troubleshoot the problems with EVGA tech support. After almost a week of back and forth discussions and lengthy removal and reinstall, including a new Power Supply, it was decided they would send me a new board with a hot exchange where they sent a new board immediately. As this would be quite a bit faster than going through Newegg I gave it a try. The new motherboard arrived and I sent the defective one back. Tech support then examined the old board and decided that it had received physical damage and deducted $60 from my refund.
Bearing in mind that the board had been handled quite a lot during the problem solving I was not convinced that the defect was the reason why the board would not shut down properly in the first place.
Other Thoughts: My recommendation is not to go through EVGA but stick with Newegg even if it takes a bit longer.READ FULL REVIEW
