The EVGA X79 Dark is a re-imagination of the EVGA X79 platform. It comes in an E-ATX form factor with a full 12-layer PCB. The memory trace layout is optimized for compatibility, improved overclocking, and full eight DIMM memory support. The CPU VRM is redesigned with the best industry IR power stages, ensuring efficient power to your CPU. The X79 Dark features a single PCI-express x4 slot and five PCI-express 3.0 x16 slots that support four-way SLI. Included is a slew of great onboard devices, including an additional four-port SATA 6G controller for a total of six SATA 6G ports, dual Intel gigabit LANs, and a USB 3.0 controller for a total of six USB 3.0 devices.
The GUI BIOS has been completely redesigned. This brand-new GUI BIOS from EVGA was focused on functionality; you can get in, and get out. No splash screens to click through, no enormous menus to scroll through, no steep learning curve: the way a modern BIOS should be.
Eight DIMM in Quad-Channel DesignSupport for up to 64GB of system memory, with an eight-DIMM in a four-channel configuration on EVGA X79 Dark motherboards, provides the capacity for users to make full use of modern 64-bit software. It's ideal for rendering detailed images or manipulating large files, without the bottlenecks of conventional storage.
Exceptional LayoutA right-angled, 24-pin power connector gives you improved airflow and optimized cable management. The optimal PCI-E layout gives you perfect airflow no matter what graphics configuration you are running, and an angled, six-pin aux PCI-E power connector keeps the motherboard clear of any cables that may block airflow. It also looks awesome!
Four-Way SLIThe EVGA X79 Dark is equipped with a single PCI-express x4 slot and five PCI-express 3.0 x16 slots, supporting up to four-way SLI multi-GPU settings.
PCI Express 3.0 ReadyThe latest PCI Express bus standard delivers improved encoding for twice the performance of current PCIe 2.0. Total bandwidth for a x16 link reaches a maximum of 32GBps, double the 16GBps of PCIe 2.0 (in x16 mode). PCIe 3.0 provides users unprecedented data speeds, combined with the convenience and seamless transition offered by the complete backward compatibility of PCIe1.0 and PCIe 2.0 devices. It is a must-have feature for PC users who want the latest technology to improve their graphics performance.
Brand-New GUI BIOSThe new GUI BIOS from EVGA is focused on functionality. It can be navigated with a mouse or keyboard, and is set to the proper aspect ratio for your Widescreen monitor. It's easy to share BIOS images, or take a screenshot and save it for later reference! All important information – such as vital temperatures, CPU frequency, and memory information – is right at the top of the BIOS, and may be viewed at all times.
Onboard FeaturesOnboard power, reset, clear CMOS, and Debug LED shows CPU temperature and diagnostics! In addition, PCI-E disable switches make troubleshooting a breeze.
