Saphire Radeon HD 6970
Pros: Works great with Vegas 13, I can now render .mpg files in 20 minutes instead of 60. Plays all the games I need it to great- Skyrim, I-racing and Star Wars the Old Republic
Cons: It's a little loud when put under full load, you'll need a good high wattage power supply with this. I have a 750 watt, it's rated at a minimum 550 watt. Doesn't support DX-12 but for what I'm using it for I don't care.
Overall Review: For around $100 this is by far the best purchase I made for Vegas. It performs better than some cards costing 5x as much or more. It previews in the highest quality and doesn't hicup with putting text overlays or transitions. I am absolutely amazed. As far as gaming goes, it's about the equivalent of a GTX 750ti. It's a great buy if you already have a good power supply. Highly recommended for Vegas 13.
Rainbow lights and versatile case
Pros: It comes with 4 light up fans, they connect right to your sata power supply and fan header on your motherboard or can also connect straight to your motherboard but I don't have that option, the button on the case changes them or turns them off completely. They are very quiet even at full blast, I haven't tested cooling but seems to have the right idea. Case also has a glass door and a decent amount of room inside.
Cons: Only thing I can think of is lack of USB 2.0 headers next to the USB 3.0.
Overall Review: If you want a cool looking case you can control through your motherboard or directly from the case, it isn't very loud and comes with 4 fans this is it then this is it, especially if it's on sale.
Good after update
Pros: After firmware update it seems to work just fine. Extremely fast, I use it as a boot drive and run Sony Vegas on the drive as well. Great deal, just a dollar a gig after rebate. I have not had any problems.
Cons: Updating the firmware was a pita. Had to use my other computer. I had to turn off windows recovery and adjust the pagefile to get everything to fit on the drive which it does with 15 gig to spare.
Overall Review: Make sure you know how to transfer windows over to the new drive, that was not fun either but I figured it out after a bit. I wouldn't use anything but windows 7 with the drive.
