Can anyone clarify if this card actually runs on PCI-E 2.0x16? I've seen in several places that it needs 2.1 and my mobo is a tad bit older than that.

It should run with no issue. The issue actually may come with the card and motherboard interacting correctly as far as software goes. Otherwise you should be fine besides that. I suggest you try to get a motherboard with at least one pic express 3.0 I'm it though to be safe

And more! This is a lower power card. You may even be able to crossfire these with a 1000w depending on your processor power draw. Use a PSU calculator whenever unsure of your supply's capabilities, they help a lot.

The card requires one 6 pin connector and one 8 pin connector for power. I tired using a 600w PSU and my PC wouldn't boot. I have an I5 intel processor. I'd recommend 750w minimum and at least 1000w if your going to Crossfire two of them.

Yes. Provided you have two cards of the same type and a compatible motherboard and a crossfire cable. Double check your power supply output as well. Two 6970's crossfired at this price point provide a very good FPS per $ spent.

Will this run on a 650w psu?

That would depend on what else is running on your system.  My set up is a 890 FXA mb, three hhds, one ssd, water cooler, 8 120 mm fans and two of these sapphire dual x cards.  I run this with a 750 watt ps, no problems.

does this vcard support 1920x1080 resolution?

yup, I have two of these cards, each (NOT crossfired) runs an ASUS 248QE 1980x1080 monitor running at 120 Hz via display port.  I do have to cut back to 60 Hz to run Far Cry 4 on highest graphics.  The fans are a bit loud, but I think this is the best PCIe 2.0 card out there.

i want to be sure this can run with a fx 4300 without too many issue until i can replace the processor moneys tight and i dont want to buy something that wont work?

I suggest going with a R9 270X This card is out dated and does not support DX 12. But Yes, It works fine with a 4300, had it in a 4150 system previously worked decently. But like I said it does not support D12 and is almost 2 years passed its prime.

Probably, but it depends on other power overhead, such as your CPU, number of USB-powered devices and hard drives.  If you're pulling 90W or less on the CPU, don't have a lot of drives or accessories, you'll probably be okay.  I was running it fine on a 750 before with my Sapphire, but I monitored my power draw through my UPS to make sure I didn't run near my wattage budget.  Also, 750W power supplies are now pretty reasonable, so you may want to think about making the jump.  After jumping CPU's, I ended up needing to replace my 750W PS anyway with a 1050W by manufacturer recommendation.  However, I'm not pulling more than 570W so far.  You just want to make sure you don't sustain continuous loads near the PS maximum.

What could be causing the card to not display? I had to get this due to not many options for 2.0 x16. I have uninstalled the old card and drivers but this will not display on the screen and my computer beeps when I turn it on. I re-install the old card and the display is back. I have used the 6 pin power supply, 8 pin, and even no power and the fans work. It is seated correctly, even tried in the other 2.0 x16 slot available and same thing. I even tried installing the driver first and then the card but that was definitely wrong...lol...could the card just be dead out of the box?

May have gotten a bad card. If its not past the date to RMA you might start that process because it doesn't sound like your getting signal to the monitor. Incidentally, PCI express slots are backward compatible. A "3.0" card will work in your motherboard just fine.

Does this product come with the crossfire cable? I don't seem to see the list of contents anywhere

We bought 2 and both came with a crossfire bridge. Sapphire says one is included with this card on their site. Newegg used to be much better about listing exactly what came in the box.
