Most Favorable Review

FIrst time Seasonic user

Seasonic FOCUS PX-750, 750W 80+ Platinum, Full Modular, ATX Form Factor, Low Noise, Premium Japanese Capacitor, 10 Year Warranty, Nvidia RTX 30/40 Super, AMD GPU Compatible, Ref# SSR-750PX
Seasonic FOCUS PX-750, 750W 80+ Platinum, Full Modular, ATX Form Factor, Low Noise, Premium Japanese Capacitor, 10 Year Warranty, Nvidia RTX 30/40 Super, AMD GPU Compatible, Ref# SSR-750PX

Pros: - Normally aim for an 80+ Gold, but this was on sale at a price too good to pass up (approx. $80) - Was easy to build with and cable manage

Cons: - Did not like the PCI-E cable options, no point-to-point cable, only had double headed connection that ruined that "clean" cable run appearance (picture included). - Would have preferred all the cables to have the braided cable cover like the motherboard cable (which is the only cable that comes with it out of the box)

Overall Review: Overall, the performance is there, my only real nitpicks boil down to aesthetics. The only reason I dropped it a star, would be the cable choices that come out of the box. Otherwise, I'm happy with the purchase.

ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD 1920 x 1080 HDMI VGA DisplayPort DVI-D Built-in Speakers HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor
ASUS VE278Q 27" Full HD 1920 x 1080 HDMI VGA DisplayPort DVI-D Built-in Speakers HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor

Pros: Great monitor, beautiful picture!

Cons: As mentioned in other post, speakers are nothing to brag about, wanted to use them to free up space on the desk, but immediately went back to desktop speakers. But that's not what got this two star rating, I'm upset because after only one year of use, the led backlight has started burning out! It started with the occasional flickering, but now it's color distortion and it can't hold the proper aspect.

Overall Review: If a CRT monitor can last me almost 10 years, surely this monitor should have at least last half that time

Nice mobo for Gaming

ASUS Z170-E LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS Z170-E LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: - SSD mounting slots - M.2 support - USB Type C - BIOS are nicely done and easy to understand

Cons: - only 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 for a total of 4

Overall Review: One of the first things I noticed with this board is the ability to mount an SSD to the back of the motherboard, I personally didn't do this, but it made me think of future upgrades and possibly moving the SSD with my OS to the rear and possibly using an M.2 drive to hold my most played games or just those games I want to load faster. Either way, this motherboard gives you the options. I like the fact that it has a USB Type C, now I just need a peripheral that uses it. The BIOS were impressive and easy to use and that's without using the "easy mode" for those that are less inclined to mess around in there. The only grip I really have here, is the fact the motherboard only has 4 USB connections (2 3.0 and 2 2.0), 5 if you include the Type C, so you can't go too crazy with adding peripherals. However, depending on the case you get, it does have a 19-pin connection to add an additional 4 USB connections (an extra 2 3.0 and 2 2.0) bring your grand total to 8 sort of negating my con. All in all, it's a great motherboard for holding your gaming rig together, here's what I have plugged into mine: i7 6700k Skylake @ 4.0GHz (I have OC'd to 4.4GHz to just try it) Liquid cooled by Corsair's H100i 32GB (8x4) of G.Skills' 288 pin 2400MHz (mobo supports over 3466+) GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980Ti 6GB G1 Gaming OC Edition Overall, I've been running it for about a month with no issues. I do plan on getting another 980Ti down the line to SLi, in which case, I'll update my review. But as for now, I do recommend this board for those wanting to build a high end computer, but still looking to keep cost down.

A Great Look, Horrible View

Acer G6 Series G276HL Gbmid Black 27" VA 6ms (GTG) 60 Hz Widescreen LED/LCD Monitor 1920 x 1080 FHD, Slim Profile Design, Built-in Speakers, and Eco-Friendly
Acer G6 Series G276HL Gbmid Black 27" VA 6ms (GTG) 60 Hz Widescreen LED/LCD Monitor 1920 x 1080 FHD, Slim Profile Design, Built-in Speakers, and Eco-Friendly

Pros: - Got it on the cheap, cheap - Sleek, slim design is nice

Cons: - Constant "blackouts" - Screen tearing - Does this thing even have speaker? </sarcasm>

Overall Review: I needed a monitor while I was putting together parts for my recent gaming rig. My previous monitor was a 27" and I wasn't willing to compromise, but silly me, should have spent the extra money for something better. I will say, the monitor does look nice, but that's about it. I may have some messed up refresh rates, but all my attempts to fix that don't seem to stop the constant "blackouts" that occur with the screen. I have it connected through the HDMI (did not come with a DVI cable, though I doubt that's the problem), you don't notice the screen tearing when browsing webpages with predominately white space such as here on newegg.com, however when viewing a video horizontal screen tearing can become blatantly obvious and extremely annoying. As for the built-in speakers, I understood they wouldn't be great, but at least pump out a volume that people can actually hear! At the max volume settings, the speakers sound like a pair of headphones left on the table while you're in another room. Not worth the trouble.

Plantronics GameCom 818 Wireless Gaming Headset - PlayStation 4
Plantronics GameCom 818 Wireless Gaming Headset - PlayStation 4

Pros: - Wireless - Decent sound quality - Snug fit

Cons: - Battery life

Overall Review: I bought this headset to replace a Razer Kraken 7.1 USB, which thanks to my dog and the lengthy cable those had, is no longer serviceable. So right off the bat, the GameCom 818 is doing exactly what I needed, free up cables from potential entanglement. Though I don't get the same sound quality from a wired product, I was very impressed at the sound quality and deep bass sounds this provided. Mentioning the wireless again, it's great to be able to walk to the fridge and grab a beer while still being able to hear what my teammates are saying on Teamspeak before starting a match (it'd be nice if the headset had a macro key for those "push-to-talk" users). I'm not sure if I have a big head or not, I assume it's "normal", however I felt the headset has a nice snug fit and feels very secure up there. I will say with prolonged use, maybe after an hour or two, it will start to feel uncomfortable. Which brings me to the battery life, they advertise 10 hours after a full charge, I would say it was more like 6 to 7. Which isn't really bad, just don't go on such a huge gaming bender like I did and charge it regularly.

Eerily Quiet!

Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm (CW-9060021-WW)
Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm (CW-9060021-WW)

Pros: - Freakishly quiet - Low temps - Doesn't take up much space

Cons: - location of the USB cable

Overall Review: Got this for my latest build using the i7 6700k Skylake, paired up with a Fractal Design R4 Silent Case and a Gigabyte's 980ti. And this is the quietest computer I've ever encountered, even while gaming! The look is very nice with the lack of a giant heatsink and fan out of the picture, making the whole case look clean and roomier. My biggest complaint about the whole thing, is the location of the mini USB cable, being located on the bottom of the pump, rather than the top. Luckily, the length of the cable is long enough and came with an elbowed connection to still run the cable behind the motherboard, but I would have preferred the connection to be on the top and be less exposed when doing cable management. But other than that, if you're tired of listening to your CPU fan whir, then this is a must!
