Pros: An update from my previous review in August. I've paired this cart with a 27" FreeSync monitor with a max refresh of 144Hz and it's just magical! The level of smoothness is just unbelievable! I've recently started playing the new Star Wars Battlefront and just love walking around and admiring just how beautiful the game world is...until I get blasted.
Cons: Not the cars fault, but to get my system to recognize FreeSync and to get the option available in AMD Catalyst Control Center I had to do a complete uninstall of all AMD driver and software, then reinstall.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Acer XG270HU 27" 1ms 144HZ WQHD HDMI DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync (Free Sync) Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor Edge-to-Edge Frameless Design, 350 cd/m2 ACM 100,000,000:1 (1000:1) Built-in Speakers
Pros: Reasonably priced, HUGE, great resolution, refresh rate, comes with HDMI, DP and DVI cables, very bright.
Cons: Not truly edge-less. There is about a quarter of an inch between the end of the displayable area and the bezel.
Other Thoughts: I was worried about upgrading to a 2k monitor, but games and 2k video are stunning. Crysis 3 in paticular. Free sync makes the action creamy smooth. The only downside is having to turn my head now to see everything because the thing is so stinking big and having to increase text an icons so I can read them with my old eyes! Some text is a little blurry when enlarged. This is mostly in applications, but not in Windows or browsers. Also you'll need to do a complete removal and reinstall of AMD drivers to get Catalyst to recognize and enable the freesync option. Once I did that the option popped right up!READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: The board is easy to set up and has a ton of built in features. OC Genie is fantastic! It was able to get my 5930k to 4 GHz and my Corsair Nominator Platinum DDR4 2666 to over 3500 GHz!
Cons: Not much but there is a setting in the bios to have CMOS reset button and other on board lights on by default, even when the unit is powered off. I was switching off my power supply at night to keep them from lighting up my room until I found a way to switch them off in the bios.READ FULL REVIEW
