Great Motherboard

GIGABYTE GA-X79-UP4 LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-X79-UP4 LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I've had it for a month now and it shows no signs of problems. All the features I want in a motherboard are there. The amount of SATA 3 connections is awesome, and this thing seems to run much cooler than my old system even with a mild overclock. Which if you don't know how, it'll do it for you almost. I ran a much more aggressive overclock to see if it would with no problems manually, don't listen to the whiners. Memory has reached it's full advertised speed. Don't forget to turn on XMP, or do it manually for extreme stuff. I would run through all the specs, but you can do that yourself. Great board. Does everything I want. Could do quad SLI if I wanted to.

Cons: I'd like more system fan headers. It has four, one close to each corners. With an I7, the potential for heat is there so be prepared to either have a few case fans on full, or through a discrete controller. The top graphics card slot is pretty close to the CPU. If you water cool it's not an issue, but many aftermarket fan will conflict. I'm not a big fan of the bios. Not a big deal though, I'm not staring at it for hours. It's functional like a bios should be.

Overall Review: I was hoping that this mobo would post a little quicker than it does. It looks great if you're into staring at circuit boards. It feels ridiculously solid. I have no doubt in my mind that if I dropped it, then it would be fine.

Awesome Keyboard

RAZER Black USB Wired Lycosa Mirror Special Edition Gaming Keyboard
RAZER Black USB Wired Lycosa Mirror Special Edition Gaming Keyboard

Pros: I've had this for nearly six months now and haven't had a single problem with it. The keys are quiet and responsive. It's obviously backlit, and I have good visibility without it being blinding. The extra USB port is nice to have. The touch screen has never given me a problem, and feels solid. This keyboard shouldn't give you a problem unless you have a temper tantrum and beat on it. And frankly, I have and it still works perfectly.

Cons: It would be nice if it dispensed beer... but it doesn't. It's shiny and even though it's plastic it's fairly scratch resistant. I could see that if you are particularly whiny it could bother you having a smudge... but for your average guy this isn't a problem.

Overall Review: It really looks cool. It has held up well to heavy daily use. I could see it being a slight advantage when gaming due to it's responsiveness, and if you are looking for more than that in a keyboard you really need get a life. It's comfortable for extended periods of gaming, and the keys don't take a lot of force to push. If you spend a lot of time playing games like me it should work well.
