Clear and crisp
Pros: Crisp, clean sound
Cons: Kind of expensive. I don't think the bass response would be sufficient without a subwoofer.
Overall Review: Bought these over a year ago. Used in conjunction with a 500 W sub, these are awesome. I can't imagine wanting anything bigger or more expensive. These are more than enough for my basement. Music is very clear.
Promising, but imperfect
Pros: USB port for external drives as NAS drives, QOS settings, open source compatible, gigabit, wireless N, guest network features, ability to access NAS files via internet
Cons: Noticed that the wireless transfer speeds drop considerably (internet/local network) after a period of time. I suspect this happens when a connected computer restarts, but have not confirmed this. Internet drops from 7.5 Mbps to 2.3 Mbps, network file transfer between wireless connected computers drops from 70-80 Mbps to 2-3 Mbps. NAS drive functionality seems great till you realize it is only 40 Mbps (5 megabytes per second) over a gigabit wired connection, and slower over wireless. I connected 3 different NTFS formatted external drives and had the same slow NAS speed. Impractical for storing my music collection and using it with Itunes as it takes too long to update library information over wireless (several hours versus a few minutes when files are stored locally). Wireless throughput is nowhere near the 300 Mbps maximum, even with paired adapter. Is more like 50-70 (when it works fast, otherwise 2 Mbps when it slows down - see above).
Overall Review: My old linksys wireless g router was more reliable although it had less features. I regret buying this device as it does not perform adequately in the areas I had intended to use it -External drive as NAS file server for music/video -Higher network transfer rates than my wireless g router - expected more than 80 Mbps -Reliability of performance over time
So far seems great
Pros: Cheap (relatively) compared to other monitors the same size and resolution. Works as expected with no dead pixels (yet). Crysis, movies, photos look great. I have not noticed ghosting.
Cons: Stand tints slightly but does not swivel. No height adjustment, no rotation, but then I already knew this in advance and I'm ok with it. I heard the speakers were terrible but I never planned on using them either when I bought this. I have not tried the speakers. My XPS notebook has the exact same resolution as this monitor so it appears much more crisp. My initial impression with both my laptop display and this monitor on its default settings was that my laptop display had as good brightness, contrast and colors as this display. I'd always thought I would find the stand alone display to be markedly better. Other posts suggest that with a little tweaking of the display using my display card I could get a much better picture, but I have not yet tried that.
Overall Review: An LCD monitor is extremely light for its size! I replaced a 19' CRT as a secondary display for my XPS 17' laptop which also has 1920x1200 resolution.
