Perfect replacement for HP Pavilion cases...well, Almost.

Pros: Nice compact size.. connectors on board perfectly match those of 2-3 year old HP Pavilion mid-towers.. nothing crowded together. Very easy to set up.
Cons: My only complaint is this.. (which is why I subtracted one egg in my rating): If you want a decently quiet case, you MUST have a cpu fan with a 4-pin connector. This motherboard will run a 3-pin CPU fan at 100% at all times, completely ignoring the "Cool 'n' Quiet" option in the bios. Hate to tell ya this, ASRock, but most people buying this board are buying it to breathe new life into old PCs... most of which are still sporting 3-pin CPU fans. This isn't a game-ender, but quite an inconvenience for someone who might not have a 4-pin CPU fan just lying around. -- If you DON'T have one, you will need to buy one with this board, unless you enjoy the magical sound of a vacuum cleaner sitting beside you. heh.
Overall Review: All-in-all, a great board. ASRock has really come a long way as far as quality is concerned in their components. I used to be an ASRock hater, but this motherboard is beginning to change my mind a bit.
1st one worked Great.. 2nd one DOA.

Pros: I bought one of these for myself as a 2ndary video encoding box, which is still running perfectly.
Cons: I ordered a 2nd one of these for a client of mine as an office pc. Once received, the 2nd one had what appeared to be 2 bent pins in the CPU socket straight out of the factory box. Upon 1st glance it appeared that it was supposed to have 2 "empty spots", as I couldn't remember what my 1st one looked like. So I assembled the machine, only to find out the hard way -- apparently, the 2 empty spots where actually 2 bent pins, which rendered it effectively DOA. RMA'ed it, and waiting for a replacement currently. Will update once replacement is received and tested.
Overall Review: C'mon, Biostar! Whatever happened to quality control, huh? I mean, 2 bent pins on the CPU socket?! The mobo is packed with a hard plastic plate which protects the socket during transit.. so obviously, the damage happened before it even went inside the packaging at the factory.. I REALLY hope the replacement is in working order and that it doesn't waste more of my time...
Working like a beast for a bit over a year now, with little to no hitches whatsoever...

Pros: Small form factor.. easy to fit into just about any case. It's ASUS. What can I say? Stable & Reliable, just as I've come to expect from them. I coupled this board with 8 gb of Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1333 ram (the max -- 16 gb max would've been better). Popped a core 2 quad e8300 into it.. and it runs great.. Skyrim? No probs whatsoever.
Cons: Sorry guys, but only 4 SATA ports does NOT cut it.. Now I'm gonna have to go order a PCI SATA II / III controller so I can add more drives to this beast. only 2 RAM slots?! I must say that is a major drawback, but for the price at the time, I had to settle. *shrugs*. -- This board doesn't overclock worth anything, so do NOT expect to be able to.. The options are there in the bios, but no matter what I try, I CANNOT OC my CPU, which really kinda stinks.. while others with other boards have easily OC'ed the same CPU with AIR COOLING. Not sure what's up with that. But as long as you've got a decently fast stock speed / specs on your CPU, it's really a non-issue.
Overall Review: Keep this board happy, clean and cool.. and it'll serve you well. If you have inadequate cooling in your case, you will indeed eventually start experiencing problems.
Gave Extended Life to a Classic Radeon 9800 Pro!

Pros: Unbelievably cheap for what you're getting! Gave "new life" to my classic but trusty ATi Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB AGP. I use the card mostly in one of my extra gaming rigs, mostly for classic games like Opposing force, HL2, Warcraft 3, Halo CE, stuff like that. The less than sufficient TINY stock cooler fan started to slow down on me and was causing system freeze-ups and sudden system restarts.. I knew it was either pitch the card, or get a new cooler. I'm glad I chose the new cooler. It's running fine once again!
Cons: Quite large for what it's meant for, but I can see why they designed it that way.. to provide pretty much universal clearance of the heat pipes over any capacitors or vid ram heatsinks.
Overall Review: The only thing that could've made this design better is if mimicked the design of the old Arctic Coolers with the "shoot the hot air out the back of the case" design.
Dramatically Increased an Old Dell Laptop's Performance

Pros: Reasonable price. Low latency. Ya can't ask for more than that!
Cons: No heat spreaders, but hey, I can't complain due to the very good price and crazy fast timings!
Overall Review: Would've been even better with heat spreaders on them, as they do run a *little* warm. Not dangerously hot, though.
Replacement in working order...

Pros: See my first review.. black / silver color scheme looks nice.. has a built-in mic..
Cons: Video quality is noticeably worse than my Hue USB cam.. but still decent for the price point. Only reason I ordered this was really for the mic for use while gaming..
Overall Review: If you're looking for a cheap, decent web cam, this one's for you. Just don't be planning on making any "mega-high quality" videos with it. Good for video chats / Skyping.. that's about it.
