Fantastic drive

Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive - STDR2000100 (Black)
Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive - STDR2000100 (Black)

Pros: This is a 9mm tall drive. The internal drive is the M9T. I use these to upgrade PS4's hard drives. As of the 1.71 firmware update from SONY for the PS4 it's been working perfectly. Earlier than that their firmware did not support the drive for some reason. It also works great in compatible notebooks as well, I will probably make it the third drive in my Dell Precision 6600 soon.

Cons: I can only get the external drive from Newegg and not the internal only.

ASUS P6X58D-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P6X58D-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: None

Cons: WOW. Josh (hispanic guy) on the 1-812 line just told me i could read the user agreement i accepted when I opened the box for the correct policies they are following, etc... I emailed the email addy that said to contact them to my last review. I'll be honest, based on the fact that I need a stable system and spent money over a year ago, i wanted a stable board. Given all of the comments on this board and the Pro version, I stated in my email to them I don't need a Rampage, but i'd appreciate the WS version as that doesn't cost much more to them and it would probably give me the stability I thought I was spending money on by going with ASUS. Well, [email protected] never replied to my initial email nor my email asking them to READ my other email, which i believe also ATTACHED that email for reference. So, Hispanic JOSH has issued an RMA which I HAVE TO PAY FOR ONE WAY. So, they want me to be out more money and in understandable fear that I will get shot back for

Overall Review: money. I have no recourse with Newegg, since they just sell the item, but, i'm out good money here and have had a system which has never delivered SATA 3 6gb performance out of design on a useless PCI E 1x bus , in RAID no less, and that has well known electrical degredation problems, if not DOA, documented right here. No, i'm plenty upset, angry, and lashing out isn't just for babies, it's for customers who get told to read the agreement that was in your box if you don't like it when companies want to hide behind their brand recognition. ASUS, GET BACK TO ME BY EMAILS AND MAKE ME HAPPY. YOUR ABOUT TO DUMP ALL OF THOSE WS BOARDS ANYWAY SINCE YOU HAVE THE THUNDERBOLT ENABLED MODELS ON THE WAY FRESH FROM COMPUTEX!!!!! Newegg, if your reading, consider closer purchasing evals of your ASUS selection in the future, they need a kick in the pants. I figured it was just sheer volume sales , but, no, I have friend with bad Asus boards, I got one, I'm not an exception.

Mixed results: Mostly RAM and Wake issues.

GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD5 LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD5 LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: It's pretty, it has lots of wonderful ports. It takes my CPU.

Cons: I load this up with 64GB of DDR3 1600 from day one, and it has some stability issues. I'm using non aggressive, normal, even 'stable' settings in their later BIOS. If they could fix the wake from sleep issues I have, that'd be a plus. If I put it in sleep, i quite often have an issue where the bios corrupts and will infinite loop, no bios screen. I have to power off and it tells me it's reloading bios from the backup. This is distressing and sometimes a daily occurrence. I'd like Gigabyte to contact me if possible. Thanks.

Overall Review: I'm street smart AND book smart. I have my degree in Maryland from UMBC in CIS Systems Analysis/Design and a concentration in Networking, a respectable 3.44 avg, sadly non IT classes had to be taken. I've done PC builds for 20 years, and THIS is the main stickler, Thankfully i've been lucky it's never been for a customer like this. This is probably the first motherboard i've really hated. I7 3930K This board. 64GB of this, some of the best rated memory ON NEWEGG!!! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231558 CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready Upgraded recently from a Raptor to a Samsung 1TB SSD. Issues haven't changed.

Pretty Great

Hyperkin RetroN 5 Gaming Console - (Black)
Hyperkin RetroN 5 Gaming Console - (Black)

Pros: Excellent video output. The ability to toggle Scanline generation is great, most games look best with them on and it helps the scaling effects look better IMHO. The included controller is rounder than it looks and though there is little travel in the buttons THEY ARE MICROSWITCH. So, they are quality buttons. The control stick reminds me of the Neo Geo CD or the old Atari 7800 redux controller Atari released towards it's end. This is ALSO microswitch. It's better than it looks for shooters. Controller ports work great, assigning controllers default maps is awesome, too much great things here to name, all working great.

Cons: The carts are a bit tough to pull out in the beginning. They go in fine, i recommend pulling out slow and steady without placing any back and forth force on it, you probably will break something that way, your fault. Does not have standard USB port to hook in pc devices or a pc cd/dvd rom to play SEGA CD games, that would have been a nice option.

Overall Review: I like this thing, i like it ALOT. It brings all of your old home games up to the video quality of an arcade machine. If you have a large LCD/Plasma then it looks like an arcade display now!!! No video lag, no issues i've seen and i'm a discerning jerk most of the time to behonest. I spend weeks calibrating my new TV's to the right white level and to my liking, pretty much a perfectionist jerk sometimes , i'll openly admit it., This box is mostly all I could ask for.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - Core 2 Quad Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4 GHz LGA 775 105W None Integrated Graphics Processor - BX80562Q6600

Pros: Relentless Performanced

Cons: Legacy bus system

Overall Review: I bought this in Jan 2008. It's been running OC'd at 3.2GHZ since burn in day. I have a CoolerMaster 110mm fan copper flower style hsf on it and it's never gotten hot to the touch. It's going to be a server/router going forward, but, slap in a good video card and it can still run the most demanding games.

Amazing cooler

ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: It's been keeping my Q6600 OC'd to 3.2ghz since I installed it as a server in 2008. It stays within 3-5' of stock temperatures with this cooler, quite amazing.

Cons: None
