This review is from: Polk Audio Monitor40 Series II Two-Way Bookshelf Loudspeaker (Black) Pair
Pros: 1. Price 2x119.99 is a super price.
2. Sound is nice and clear, rated at 20-125W at 8ohms 89db with a freq response of 47Hz to 25Khz, which is a pretty broad spectrum for bookshelfs.
3. cheap enough to buy 3 pairs and use 1 for the center with a spare lol. Of course these sound clear, but need to pair with sub for any real bass.
Cons: None at this price point. These are discontinued, but still great if you can get them.
Other Thoughts: Paired with a PSW 660 WI sub and these things rock.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Polk Audio Monitor70 Series II Floorstanding Loudspeaker (Black) Single
Pros: I have some great speakers, everything from magnepan flat panels, mirage 5.1, but i use these 70 ii's for my fronts of my 7.1 system, which i'm making 9.1 with 2 more 70's i'm buying now. All the front wide, back rears are 40's, but i was using 40's as my surround as well. The whole system sounds great as all the speakers are broken in well over a year now. Except for these new 70's that i just bought. Of course there are better speakers, but these black friday prices are usually pretty good and the speakers are decent enough to play both music and watch movies, which i do more of with these. I paired all the speakers with a cs10 center and psw 660 12" sub which is awesome.
Cons: not much at this price point
Other Thoughts: As many have said, the towers aren't the best for super low frequencies, you're not gonna be thumping some super low bass, so get a subwoofer to complement these and the whole system will sound great.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ASUS CUBE V2 With Google TV Wireless Interface - Retail
Pros: has a lot of your online tools in one one place, can switch from TV to online, to netflix in a few button pushes.
Cons: netflix doesn't work, it tries to load movies and times out. I haven't bothered with google tv, or my a- prime accounts, because if netflix doesn't play, i doubt those will play either. About to remove it from my tv.
Other Thoughts: The idea is certainly cool, put all your internet tools, tv and apps all in one easy to use interface.. well so it seems at first till you hit the mouse (pointer) button on the side. The layout of the remote sucks, i always hit that button accidentally. Oh and asus writes back a day after the rebate expired that i sent something in wrong. So if you're looking for this thing cheap, be very wary.READ FULL REVIEW
