Would not buy Asus again

ASUS Taichi31 Dual Screen 2in1 Ultrabook - i5 4GB Memory 128GB SSD 13.3" Touchscreen w/Active Digitizer Windows 8 (Taichi31-NS51T, Rev2)
ASUS Taichi31 Dual Screen 2in1 Ultrabook - i5 4GB Memory 128GB SSD 13.3" Touchscreen w/Active Digitizer Windows 8 (Taichi31-NS51T, Rev2)

Pros: Cheap when I got it on sale.

Cons: * Unreliable - DIED when less than 4 months old. Asus will not offer a refund or advance replacement and since I need this daily for my work, I am now forced to buy a new laptop even though I'll eventually get this one back from repair. * Slow and sluggish. Pauses frequently. Shockingly slow IO especially for an SSD. Slower than a regular HD. * Active digitizer is not accurate. * Poor battery life. Around 3-4 hours just surfing and emailing. * Hardware sensors not well integrated with Windows 8.1. Opening and closing the lid does not reliably switch screens. Rotation is often not recognized.

Overall Review: My feeling is that the second screen is dumb. Most convertibles have a screen that flips or folds backwards which is the way to go. Why have the expense, complexity and thickness of an additional screen which you would never use them together? Only the outside screen is touch.

Defective touch screen

Pros: Great for the price - if it worked as advertised.

Cons: Defective touch screen.

Overall Review: Immediately noticed that icons would often take several touches to open or that the wrong app launched. Then I noticed typing mistakes and repeated keys. It was clear something was wrong when some typos weren't even near the key I was pressing. Google'd and discovered tons of reports of the multitouch panel being defective. (Google "nexus 7 touchscreen issues") Downloaded app YAMTT which confirmed that screen is terribly defective.
