Pros: UN-FREAKING BELIEVABLE!! I put this drive into a 5 year old H-P DV-6 with an AMD Turion dual core. I was hoping for some speed improvement over the mechanical HDD, but not what I got. My start-up time went from 90 seconds to 35 seconds! The whole laptop feels way faster than when it was brand new. I can hardly believe it is the same computer.
The Samsung Data Migration software worked flawlessly, except for the master boot record. ( quick fix using Win 7 repair disc) It took about an hour to clone the H-P's HDD using the USB cord (66GB's of data transferred) . After that, installation was easy.
Cons: Are you kidding me???- NONE AT ALL!
Other Thoughts: The most amazing part of this upgrade is the fact that the SSD is running on a first generation SATA port ( 3G/b) - after all, my H-P is 5 years old. Sure enough, the Samsung Magician software shows read and write speeds about half of what the drive is capable of ( same drive in my desktop run about 515-520 MB/s on a SATA 6G/b port) Regardless of what the numbers say, the 5-yr. old H-P feels peppier than it has ever been and is a joy to use once again. Kind of like saying," It has been reborn again". I do not know of any upgrade that can give this much increase in speed as simply changing to an SSD. After this, I cannot ever go back to a mechanical HD ( at least as a boot drive)
Got to give Samsung credit for this one ( the 840 EVO series)- they REALLY got it right!
Pros: Great card for the money. The ACX cooler really does a better job than the older blower-type of cooler - I have to look at the card to make sure the fans are running - they are totally silent.
Perfomance-wise, this new 750 Ti is a real winner. This replaced a GTX 550Ti that I have have had for the past 3 years. Windows Experience with the 550 Ti was 7.4: with this new 750Ti, it jumped up to 7.7. Pretty good for a "budget card" . If this 750Ti is any indication of what the new Maxwell chip can do, I would say that NVidia has a real winner here. Can't wait to see what the more powerful versions can do.

Pros: Quiet!!! Cannot hear it at all from more than several inches away. My Vishera 4300 runs 7-12 degrees cooler than with the stock cooler. Has a 4-pin like the stock unit for control of the fan's speed by the mobo.
Cons: Not the easiest to install with the mobo in the case. Would be much easier to install with the mobo out.
Other Thoughts: Bought this unit to replace the stock unit whose fan was failing. This Alpine 64 cools some better than the stock unit, but runs much quieter. Be careful when installing - the fan mounting pins on top of the cage are extremely fragile and break easily.READ FULL REVIEW
