Quality Product
Pros: Does its job and does it well, without me having to fret over it. Have owned it since April '09, no problems yet.
Cons: Nothing Yet
Overall Review: I didn't notice a huge difference in speed upgrading from a 320GB 7200 RPM Seagate, but wasn't really expecting anything in the first place. You'll have to shell out for an Intel SSD for that...
Brought an Old VAIO Back to Life
Pros: I put this in my girlfriend's Old Sony VAIO T350P that she bought for college back in Fall '05. Increasing the RAM to 1GB made a real difference, XP is so lame with 512MB. Plus I earned the gratitude of her parents for upgrading it. Although she has since moved on to a MacBook Pro 15" with hybrid graphics, the VAIO is still on active duty at her parents house, where they have it hooked up to an HDTV to watch movies.
Cons: No free shipping?
Overall Review: Shell out the cash and upgrade your slow junker, then give it to your little sister and buy a new ASUS G73H.
Works for Me
Pros: Price, Antec = Quality; Gets a little warm after use, but nothing that worries me really. Have traveled with it and it has held up just fine. Easy installation. I feel cool for buying the case separately rather than from K0sTk0.
Cons: Wallwort PSU
Overall Review: Its a great deal all in all. You could spend more, but this should serve most peoples needs.
Solid Case
Pros: Sturdy construction, great HDD bays, excellent airflow, PSU on bottom, looks cool especially with the additional blue LED Antec fan on the case window (we all know that each LED equals +5 FPS...), plenty of space. I don't think its that heavy really, I'm a fan of its size. This was a gift from a friend. It replaced an Antec Super LANBoy which I got on Black Friday '06 for a nice price. Overall a much better case. Do your billion+ transistor components a favor and give them the cooling they need.
Cons: Some friends have mentioned that they were keen on stealing it.
Overall Review: E6400 @ 2.6 | ASUS P5B-Deluxe | Powercolor HD4850 512MB| 2x2GB Geil DDR2 800 | OCZ GameXStream 600W | WD 1TB Black | Acer P243W | Zalman Cooler (9700?)
Good Stuff
Pros: I have used these with an ASUS P5B-Deluxe and Core 2 Duo E6400 to overclock it to 2.6GHz[325 x 8]. Haven't pushed them to the advertised 400MHz, or really messed around with timings much. Who cares about timings really, seriously you guys?
Cons: This is my own fault, but they don't play nice with a 2 x 1GB set of Super Talent sticks that I bought Q4 '06. The reason as far as I can tell is that the voltage for these is 1.9 and the Super Talents are 2.2+ I believe. I bought these in April '09 for $45, but now they sell for $100.
Overall Review: E6400 | ASUS P5B-Deluxe | OCZ GameXStream 600W | Powercolor HD4850 | WD 1TB Black | Antec 900 | Acer P243W I bought these in April '09 for $45, but now they sell for $100. Is this because the memory manufacturers are in a sort of transition state between DDR2 and DDR3? With 4GB of RAM, I don't feel the need for anymore so w/e. Probably won't ever buy DDR2 again, seeing as the next build will use DDR3. Before that comes I'll probably upgrade to a Core 2 Quad.
