Most Favorable Review

Fantastic for work, either on site or at home.

Microsoft Intel Core i7-6600U 8GB Memory 256GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M 13.5" Touch Screen 3000 x 2000 Convertible Ultrabook Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit Surface Book with Performance Base
Microsoft Intel Core i7-6600U 8GB Memory 256GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M 13.5" Touch Screen 3000 x 2000 Convertible Ultrabook Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit Surface Book with Performance Base

Pros: - i7 dual core with hyperthreading is nice and fast, even if it isn't kabylake. - Windows 10 Pro has bitlocker, is slim on resources needed to run and facial recognition works in a dark room. - The SSD is extremely fast just like the previous computers I have had. - The screen is fantastic at 3000x2000. - Battery life while on the keyboard is great. - Surface Pen works great on PowerPoint and other programs. - No bloatware pre-loaded, except a few games. - Keyboard is smooth like my wife's Macbook - Light when in tablet mode. - Lit keyboard. - Swipe and motions with the trackpad work great. - The ability to fold the screen backwards to draw on is nice. - Displayport for external projection - USB port on the power brick for charging devices.

Cons: - The keyboard portion itself is slightly heavy but that is to be expected. - The battery life without being attached to the keyboard sucks. - No USB-C - Only one display port, need an adapter or the microsoft dock for more connections. - The charging cable is nice as its magnetic but the brick overall just sucks. There isn't an easy way to wrap the cable at the end of the work day. - Windows 10 spyware stuff but I am tech savvy enough to get rid of the majority of it. - The price of the performance base is painful, especially for a meager Nvidia 965M. Should at least be a 1000 series or something with 4GB! - Premium price on the PCI-E SSD like Apple. Good thing there are ways around this. - SD card slot doesn't let the SD card sit flush like the Surface tablet line, I had to get a shortened SD card to make it look nice and not pertrude from the keyboard. - Why no true quad-core i7? - Software driven screen separation, there is no manual way to release the screen from the keyboard.

Overall Review: Really, the issues with the computer aren't huge but just growing pains of a new device from a company that previously never made computers themselves. I like the surface book and plan to keep it for the life of the device. I prefer this over the Macbook I had passed on to my wife for quite a few reasons, the primary one, being able to draw on the screen while detaching it for use in the classroom. I am a technical instructor and having this at my side helps me quite the bit. It's also nice since I have neck and back problems, I can sit when I begin to hurt and use the screen instead of the board for diagrams. I must say though, I hope Microsoft offers keyboard for the future Surface line to be backwards compatible. I'd like to get a better video card in this thing. I don't use it for gaming but when I travel I do play the occasional game here and there. I also would like 4GB of VRAM for other graphical applications. Just a preference though. The i7 is quick but I would also have liked a true quad-core or at least the Kabylake interation since this is the "Performance Base" version. You would think Microsoft would soup up the processor with the price point they ask. Still, all in all, a solid laptop/tablet that can get the job done and play the occasional game in windows mode 1080p.

Good Monitor but false advertising

SAMSUNG 943BT-2 Black 19" 5ms Pivot, Swivel & Height Adjustable LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 8000:1 (1000:1)
SAMSUNG 943BT-2 Black 19" 5ms Pivot, Swivel & Height Adjustable LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 8000:1 (1000:1)

Pros: Good crisp picture. 75 Hertz available as an option. Good stand for the monitor.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Overall Review: Advertised as 1920x1080 but will not display correctly in this res. I bought this monitor because of this supported resolution only to be disappointed. Runs 1280x1024. Nothing else really wrong here.

Excellent at the price

HIS iCooler Radeon HD 7770 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card H777F1G2M
HIS iCooler Radeon HD 7770 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card H777F1G2M

Pros: Highspeed card with a small profile PCI-E 3.0 (as usual) Quiet

Cons: Driver issues occasionally

Overall Review: I run two 7970s in my rig and I bought this for my wife so that she could play games like Kingdom of Amalur maxed. It does it very well and everything flows nicely but the drivers could be better. This is Radeon's only faulting point really. Both hers and my cards tend to lock up the display when put to sleep and brought back. The easy remedy is to turn off the sleep and inactive monitor but I shouldn't have to do this. I thought it was a windows problem at first but seeing it happened when I was on Windows 7 and moved to 8 that seems less likely. Her machine is also on 8 and has the same issues. Overall, great card for the money!

Good for the money

Intel Core i5-3350P - Core i5 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.1GHz (3.3GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 69W Desktop Processor - BX80637i53350P
Intel Core i5-3350P - Core i5 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.1GHz (3.3GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 69W Desktop Processor - BX80637i53350P

Pros: High speed Non-HyperThreaded 4 core setup Well priced

Cons: Not much room for overclocking but I didn't buy it for that Low end turbo

Overall Review: I bought this for a rig that I built my wife. She needed something that could play games and browse the web. Along with a 7770 and a Vertex 4 SSD this setup works well with 8GB of RAM. She isn't a hardcore gamer and just wanted maxed out graphics on some games like Kingdom of Amalur with no issue. This setup replaced her gaming laptop with a 460M so anything was better than that. Good processor for basic gaming.

Great board

ASRock A785GM-LE AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G + SB710 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: 6 SATA 3 6 USB Easy BIOS Many options in BIOS for OCing, customizing via profile, etc. Great Color Coding!

Cons: None that I can see so far, booted with no issues

Overall Review: I bought this to replace a mobo that shorted on an old Gateway I have. I wanted to use the gateway as a server for a few things and this was the only choice I really had other than the factory one that was a refurb. This fit easily, connected even better, and overall works flawlessly. My HDD doesn't work but that isn't the Mobo that has to deal with the old PSU blowing out half my system. So kudos!

Outstanding SSD

OCZ Vector Series 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC VTR1-25SAT3-256G
OCZ Vector Series 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC VTR1-25SAT3-256G

Pros: Fast Reliable Lightweight Boots Windows 8 in about 7 seconds Comes with a 3.5" mount for ease of installation

Cons: Price tag but then again, the best is always expensive.

Overall Review: Good bejeezus this thing is fast. I have a Macbook Retina with an SSD and this SSD blows that one out of the water when it comes to data transfers. I am used to HDDs and this is definitely the one to get. If you are new to the SSD market, get this Vector, you will not be disappointed.

Good experience

Product was shipped quickly. No issues from the seller. I am taking away one egg because the box itself inside the shipping box had some areas where it looked like it might have been stacked against something as it was partially creased and wrinkled in one corner. Not sure if this happened during transit or as it left the warehouse. The item itself is in perfect working order. Would order again!
