Love the UEFI Bios

ASUS Crosshair V Formula AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard with 3-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support and UEFI BIOS
ASUS Crosshair V Formula AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard with 3-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support and UEFI BIOS

Pros: Lots of expandability with different headers on the board Lots of LEDs, I like LEDs :) Power Button right on the board (great for bench testing) Quick connector for FPanel header FAST Great build quality and it's black (matches my case) Lot's of inputs for monitoring software to check

Cons: Expensive, for this price I built an Intel system for a friend (Minus case and HDD) but I can't complain because of the track record I have had with ASUS products.

Overall Review: You get what you pay for, that's for sure. With great build quality and feature set, the price is very accurate. I have always liked ASUS, first really got into ASUS' products with their EeePC. Now I have an ROG notebook and this monster built up. I upgraded from an older Gigabyte MATX AMD 780 Mobo with a Phenom quad to this board along with an FX-8120 and 16gb of ram. Runs Windows 7 and Linux great. Linux has always had a bit of trouble with drivers for ATi cards but they're getting there now :)

Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model 996559
Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model 996559

Pros: Works perfectly in my older Asus notebook Inexpensive

Cons: I guess that it's not free lol

Overall Review: Brought the performance of my 4 year old laptop up to snuff. Waiting on a new processor to really get the performance up on my notebook.

Works as it should

Kingston DataTraveler G3 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (White & Blue) Model DTIG3/16GBZ
Kingston DataTraveler G3 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (White & Blue) Model DTIG3/16GBZ

Pros: 16GB Cheap Pretty Durable

Cons: A little slow write speed, but good enough for everyday stuff.

Overall Review: I have a 4gb key and it's been good for basic stuff. A good buy in my opinion.

Fast

EAGLE ET-CS2PESU2-BK 2.5" Black SATA I/II USB 2.0 & eSATA External Enclosure with built-in USB cable
EAGLE ET-CS2PESU2-BK 2.5" Black SATA I/II USB 2.0 & eSATA External Enclosure with built-in USB cable

Pros: Fast through ESata USB is quick as usual Fit my Seagate Momentus 5400.6 320GB Drive Built in cable for USB Distinctive LEDs for data/power

Cons: ESata won't power the drive Didn't include a carrying pouch

Overall Review: For the price, it's a great drive. It worked fine with my Seagate drive. With CrystalDiskMark my 5400 RPM drive achieved 81.9MB sec read/write speed. Wrote my entire iTunes library to it in around 10 minutes, much faster than the 30 - 45 it use to take with USB 2.0. The enclosure itself seems well enough constructed. I'm pretty careful with my stuff, so hopefully it lasts for a few years. It's nice to have all your data with you when you need it. Thanks NewEgg for fast shipping as usual!

Great case at a great price

Lenovo Black ThinkPad Basic Case Model 43R9113
Lenovo Black ThinkPad Basic Case Model 43R9113

Pros: Fits my T410 and adapter as well as disks Seems rugged enough As per usual, extremely fast shipping

Cons: Not leather or something higher class? I don't know lol

Overall Review: I have used these before with older notebooks and I love them. Work great for just a basic case. Fits an adapter, mouse, memory keys/hard drive and the computer. Rugged, all around case for the daily driver.

Just Screams!

AMD FX-8120 - FX-Series Zambezi 8-Core 3.1 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD8120FRGUBOX
AMD FX-8120 - FX-Series Zambezi 8-Core 3.1 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD8120FRGUBOX

Pros: Eight logical cores (Great for virtual PCs) L3 and L2 cache sizes are great Price was sure right

Cons: Doesn't have Hyper Threading to show 16 cores? Realistically, none though. Just works, as AMD always has for me.

Overall Review: I know Intel's CPUs bench faster but to get an equivalent processor with Intel's name on it was around $100 extra and I put that money towards a better motherboard for my setup. I'd rather have a few extra cores to play with. I have had a couple Intel setups in the past and was never very happy with them. AMD/ATi has always been my go to. My setup: Asus Crosshair V Formula MB Corsair 16GB DDR3 FX-8120 (Stock) Radeon HD4850 OCz Vertex 60GB SSD Corsair GS-700 PSU Cooler Master CM-690 II CPU idles at 33'C and maxes out around 56'C with stock cooler.
