SeaSonic Platinum Series SS-400FL2 Active PFC F3 400W ATX12V Fanless 80 PLUS Platinum Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: My goodness what a wonderful PSU. Silent. Did I mention silent. modular adapters can be removed, which allows airflow and general clutter to be improved. Also, it's silent.

Cons: Wow expensive, but worth it

Overall Review: I've always loved Seasonic PSUs, and this one does not dissapoint.

Seagate Desktop HDD ST3000DM001 3TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop HDD ST3000DM001 3TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Good price, nice transfer speeds.

Cons: 1/4 drives that I bought was DOA. Would actually drop out during use despite testing with 3 SATA controllers, 3 SATA cables, 3 different power connectors on separate rails. 25% failure rate on my purchases seems high. Especially since Newegg won't reimburse shipping charges on defective merchandise.

Noctua NF-S12B FLX 120mm, 3 Speed Setting, Beveled Blade Tips Design, SSO Bearing Fan - Retail

Pros: Quiet, multiple options for voltages and therefore decibel level

Cons: Poor documentation to indicate which adapters are which. It comes with a 5v and 7v adapter, and runs 12v without adapter. However, I had to find this out on line.

Seagate BarraCuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate BarraCuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Size, Price, Speed are all what is expected. The recent drives being shipped from Newegg are the new series whihc doesn't seem to suffer from the Firmware fiasco that is plaguing Seagate right now from the 7200.11 series.

Cons: Seagate, amidst the firmware fisco, cut the warranty from 5 years to 3 years as of January 2009.

Overall Review: Still a wonderful drive, and I have a number of them. I'm still a fan of seagates, but that said I haven't had any drive failurs recently from them.

Seagate BarraCuda 7200.11 ST31000340AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Very nice drive. No problems so far. Not sure yet if the 32mb cache will really make that much difference, but it;s not much more expensive than a 16mb model. I've added 2 of these to my home file server so far, and a quick 2TB isn't too shabby for the cost and the fact that I now have extra room in the case.

Cons: none so far

Overall Review: The cost is not that much more than the 750GB drives, and in my opinion worth while, though other's opinions may differ.

TwinMOS 512MB DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory Model M2GAJ08A-MK

Comments: no problems so far. What can I say, it's VALUE RAM. I'm not expecting the world out of this, but it is fine for non-overclocked systems. On the plus side, this stuff is rated at CAS2.5 when comparable priced models are Cas3. SO, kudos.
