nice
Pros: Worked as it should out of the box. Overclocking is easy, BIOS is easy to navigate. Updates were straight forward. Has lots of fan capacity and just enough backwards compatibility.
Cons: has less features than the next better in the Z77 line. (duh!) has overclocking limitations.
Overall Review: While far from my first computer build, I am still a decades long loyal fan of Asus. Yet again, I have not been disappointed. Easy build, and it is still performing like new at almost a year of service. My last Asus board went six years before I needed to replace it, and it still performing in my "old" box that I gave to my Lady. This one appears to be just as robust and trouble free.
might have worked
Pros: Large IPS display. Would have been excellent for photo editing. no bezel at all for most part. comes with cables. even with no power to the panel, the hdmi picked up and identified the monitor.
Cons: DOA. No power at all. Acer Tech support was ok at best. terrible stand with limited mobility. very glossy.
Overall Review: Acer wanted me to send them the panel for repair. It would have been out for two weeks or so and cost me shipping. I returned it and purchased an Asus with a far better stand, reputation, and a matte screen.
killer board
Pros: it has lasted 7 years and is still going! i have upgraded everything around a bit at a time, but it is now time for a major rebuild. I love this board. I'm putting it in my girlfriends case for an upgrade for her as I make myself a new asus machine in the same old antec alluminum case. Even after years I can run almost anything I want to. I am a photographer who demands a lot of processing, and this still delivers even without having put the best possible processor in it.
Cons: none at all. I more than got my money out of this board, it doesn't owe me a thing!
Overall Review: I can only hope that my next Asus, on the way now, can perform anywhere near as well.
Great Monitor but.
Pros: I love this monitor, plenty of room, great performance in every way. I love the adjustability. I can put it on top of a slim profile computer, on a riser, or on a desk. I use this monitor for many hours every day editing photos. My eyes do not feel tired at the end of the day like a CRT. We save energy, get the best performance I have seen short of spending double the money or more.
Cons: We had trouble getting the color balance set with spyder3, and using two separate colorimeters. The default Kelvin temperature settings in the monitor did not allow for our standard 5800K temperature. We ended up using "native" and everything was fine. It is worth mentioning that it also would not perform while set to custom.
Overall Review: I want one for home use, the adjustability really sells me on this beautiful monitor.
great bargain
Pros: Installed immediately, it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.
Cons: wish it was 6gs for the same price :)
Overall Review: I read from others that this drive fails at fairly regular rate, but I have had many Seagate products in the past that have performed admirably. I have no reason to think this one will be different.
Great for Photo
Pros: Great color, easy on the eyes, plenty of air flow, the stand action is amazingly cool. Somewhat easy menus. Plenty of size, several windows worth.
Cons: The color presets while better than most monitors I have used are missing the most usable preset temperatures for photography. In order to use the custom color you must purchase the NEC software. (you can use a third party spectrometer though)
Overall Review: This monitor is well suited for Pro Photo applications, high refresh rate of 8ms limits newer games. If you need to color tune your display, I recommend using "native" color temp setting and spyder or eye one spectrometers for custom color management files.
