Intel 335 Series 240GB SATA III SSD

Intel 335 Series Jay Crest SSDSC2CT240A4K5 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Intel 335 Series Jay Crest SSDSC2CT240A4K5 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Substantial increase in speed compared to my HDD. I've been using it for a month now and it is working flawlessly after a bit of tweaking. I bought this when it was on sale and I spent approximately $0.60 per GB. If you were waiting for the price to drop for SSDs, the introduction of the 20nm MLC flash memory is what you were waiting for.

Cons: The Intel SSD toolbox is a little picky when it comes to your motherboard. Most AMD and nForce chipsets will encounter at least some trouble with the SSD overall (particularly performance) so you'd be best to do some reading into your motherboard if you want the maximum performance. I have an nForce chipset (which does not support AHCI) and I needed to revert my driver to Microsoft's IDE controller so my computer could detect the SSD, enable TRIM and most importantly to update the firmware, otherwise the SSD toolbox would give you an error about not recognizing the SSD. After a bit of tweaking however, I got the performance (specifically random read/writes) much higher than it was when I first installed this by switching out my nForce driver. You will most likely experience marginal speeds compared to the advertised ones especially if your PC (primarily your motherboard) is not completely up-to-date. The data migration software is convenient but for the best possible performance, it is recommended that you do a fresh install on your SSD.

Overall Review: Great for people who just want the benefits of an SSD who can use the data migration software and be back on their PC within an hour and for those who want the maximum performance this SSD has to offer.

V7 M30P10-7N Black 3 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical Mouse

Pros: I've had this mouse for awhile and it hasn't broke on me yet, fits my hand well. With the price tag on this one you can't go wrong.

Cons: The mouse is a bit on the loud side, I wear headsets so I don't hear it at all, but for those of you who use speakers or have roommates the clicking can get pretty annoying.
