EVGA GeForce GTX780 Backplate Model 100-BP-2780-B9 - Retail
EVGA GeForce GTX780 Backplate Model 100-BP-2780-B9 - Retail

Pros: Looks good

Cons: I bought two of these for my Titans and thought I would get the same quality but it would say 780 for my 780 ACX. I was wrong. This backplate is REALLY thin, probably 33% thinner than my titan backplates. I'd say if your card starts to bend so will this plate.

Great feature set, but faulty

ASRock Z77 Extreme9 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Z77 Extreme9 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Amazing set of features! It has all the USB 3.0 ports you would ever need, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth 4 (which work flawlessly), a ton of Sata3 ports, fan connections and the thing just looks amazing. It also is supposed to do 4-way or in my case 16x SLI (con section) This board also can use a wide variety of RAM (I was using the Trident 2400 2x 8gb pack, these are known to not overclock so if 2400 isn’t good enough go elsewhere) Also my 2600k would only read the RAM at 2133, my 3770k reads them at 2400 all the way to 3000 (which of course won’t work since they don’t overclock). Bios is easy to work around, not complicated at all, the software included like X-Fast (have to install the OC utility to see the options) work well, but the program itself could use a facelift (its UGLY) but it works.

Cons: 16x SLI! This simply DOESNT WORK, this could be my particular board though. Slots 1 and 5 are used for 16x, Windows(8) simply will not run (no overclocking on CPU or GPU, no reason for me). It will boot but the display drivers just crash out(I tried the previous drivers I used on my flawless Sabertooth board). So I move my card to slots 3 and 5 (8x/8x) and they seem to work fine (for a while). Then my cards started to crash AGAIN. I went to a single card and it worked the day I got the board but was too frustrated to try again since I have an SLI setup. I have an 850 watt power supply (with the PSU calc it says my system is pulling 607 watts, I previously (4 days ago) had a 2600k @ 4.7ghz and both my 670 PE cards on a Z77 Sabertooth and the system worked FINE, so I HIGHLY doubt it’s a PSU issue (this is what ASRock thinks the issue is). I would have tested all this on my Sabertooth but I made the mistake of selling it(I should have kept it with all the things that happened with this board). I RMA’d the motherboard and will be getting a replacement. I will not use it, I am considering my options but Asus and Gigabyte are my targets now. I am not saying I’ll never buy an ASRock board again BUT after this and reading that ASRock boards do not show correct voltage readings is worrisome and makes me hesitant to buy again. Advertisement of 16x/16x when it simply doesn’t work is unacceptable. ASRock told me to RMA the board to Newegg, I won’t buy another MB from Newegg because I can’t return it, only RMA it. Another retailer will get that order. I don’t want this board AT ALL.

Overall Review: Fix the power issues or PLX issues, whichever it is and this board COULD be a solid performer. And fix the voltage readings while you are at it!

Great card, if it were cheaper

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 04G-P4-3988-KR 4GB CLASSIFIED GAMING w/ACX 2.0, 26% Cooler and 36% Quieter Cooling For Gaming Graphics Card
EVGA GeForce GTX 980 04G-P4-3988-KR 4GB CLASSIFIED GAMING w/ACX 2.0, 26% Cooler and 36% Quieter Cooling For Gaming Graphics Card

Pros: Beautiful card! With the backplate added on I could not ask for anything more, it is probably my favorite GPU ever. There is no GPU sag either. Triple BIOS! Pretty quite until you hit higher fan speeds which you will never hit unless you do some overvolting. Memory OC'ing is amazing.

Cons: I have owned dual 6970's, 670's (DCUII and Hawks), 680's (Zotac's and Lightnings), 660's, 280x's (XFX), 290x's (Lightnings and DCUII's) 780's, TItans, 970's (Gigabyte G1) and now I have a single 980 Classified so I have a lot of GPU experiance. This is the MOST FRUSTRATING card to overclock. There needs to be a guide on how to get this card to 1.3 volts without the Classy Tool which goes to 1.4 to 1.5 volts and kills the cards speed and burns it alive (unless you escape out of your benchmark quickly). I RMA'd my first card after I was having crashing issues (turns out it was probably just the EVGA software (so a clean windows install was basically required). I got my new card and it overclocks like garbage at stock voltage. The card simply will not go to 1.3v with any software, be it Afterburner or EVGA's stuff. A proper walkthrough would be nice from EVGA on how to actually do this (maybe there is a reason there isnt one because maybe it isnt possible). You pay the premium for features and you simply can not get them. You are better off getting the cheaper versions of the card from EVGA or other companies because there is no real advantage besides saying "I have a Classified" or seeing how beautiful the card is but that's not worth the premium.

Overall Review: I love this card and if I could get 1.25 - 1.3 volts and get my card to 1550mhz not 1480mhz I would be happy but it doesnt seem possible. There is an expectation when you buy this card and I am sadly not impressed. EVGA please help out the user and post how to actually overclock this card.

Nice and bright/broke and dim

LOGISYS Computer CLK12BL 12" Cold Cathode kit
LOGISYS Computer CLK12BL 12" Cold Cathode kit

Pros: One of the cathodes was bright but the blue adapter was aparently broken (the solder where the 2 pins are were broken) The other cathode was a little more dim, but the blue adapter worked, so I plugged both of them in to the one adapter that worked.

Cons: Broken blue adapter, dont want to send it back and wait for another one, so I now have a useless adapter.

Great Cooler!!

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipes

Pros: I am a Zalman guy! But after this cooler probably not anymore! I have read everywhere the Zalmans dont fit on my ASRock Extreme4 Z68 board so I was looking around and found this. My last computer was a Core i7 920 and my Zalman kept it at 34c and I think my Antec twelve hundred case moved more air than my NZXT Phantom case does now. But I have a Core i7 2600k and this keeps it at 24c-30c and at full load OC'd to 4.8GHz I have never hit 70c EVER! This cooler i stupid good! Extremely happy!

Cons: It was a little odd putting it on my motherboard and it does still move around when I try and twist it (just a little to test it) It could be loose but I attribute it to the crossbar that you install it with. Regardless its amazing.

Does what its supposed to!

Rosewill 9.5" EPS 8-Pin Male to ATX 4-Pin Female Cable with Cable Sleeve Model RCA-RU9.5-P8M-P4F

Pros: I bought this so I could route my 8 pin connector to my motherboard going through the back of my case to hide the wires. This was long enough and it works...what else is there to say!

Cons: NONE
