151 Vs 161 replacement
Pros: After two yrs the mic failed on my 151's. Got the 161's to replace them. If your a fan of Sennheiser you know the older they are the better they sound so I knew when i got the new 161's they would be tight. After a week I could hear the 161's have a bit better range in the VERy low fq and very high fq. The 161's are well built in construction are super light and loose fitting, almost too loose I wish they gripped a bit better. Put a bit of pressure on the ears they sound phenomenal. The mic is good with good placement.
Cons: Even thou the 161's sound is a bit expanded in the very VERy high and low Fq. I cant say its $30 better. the 151's fit better, and you get the same Sennheiser sound. if your not getting the pc 350's id say get the 151's Also both the 151/161's sound awful with onboard sound, a decent soundcard is a must.
Overall Review: now im looking at the sets side by side and the cords on the 161' are substantially larger. but we all know that chairs are headphone killers. Be kind to your sennheisers run you headphones around the back of you desk. so 4 eGG's from me, maybe they set the bar to high with the 151's. For 100 bones you should be at the next lvl, and I didnt see that from the 151 to the 161's. peace, love and rick roll control im out.
chasing water falls +++UPDATED+++++
Pros: design and build quality seemed on par. i dont like RBG, and not much of a fan of scary names and color schemes, just gimme the tech, and good information pls. they passed memtest
Cons: ive built about 4 dozen machines now on 700 chip set heres the problem, the reason why so many people cant get these or ANY sticks to enable XMP is they need to be in slots b/d and not slots a/c why? i dunno but it seems no matter the motherboard or ram this seems to be the case at lease for me. so anyone having an XMP enble issue try moving to the next dual channel. im changing my eggs from 1 to 4 since more then likely the sticks were fine, and it was my err wheres the info? i know there is a QR code on the box, but even then i have to scroll around and find my product and search for the specs, what happen to putting the Volt and timings on the stick? my main issue, i could not get the darn things to run at spec, i would have to turn off xmp and in limp mode @ ddr4000
Overall Review: i have always bought corsair and mushkin for bulk. i saw lots of good reports on patriot, so i though on my first personal DD5 build id try something different, maybe it was me, compatibility or maybe bad luck on bum sticks. i hate when i cant get things to work, so ill keep trying until replacements get here, in the end.............. ..................i should have stayed in the waters i know.
the basics done well
Pros: this board checked all the boxes: z370 and it has the Realtek ALC1220 VS 8xxxx. no RGB which is a plus for me, the board is solid, with very clear silk screen, no smeared text etc.. Reinforced PCIe slots is a must for heavy cards. i think if they can keep the production QC standard evga is a good choice for MB. makes sure about the chip set you're getting.
Cons: EZ-bio is ok, and even in the advanced it was a bit short. but its very focused on getting up and getting OC's done setting up raid's. but lacks some features that are on higher end boards. this board was $149, then $119 then $149; the $149 had reviews on it cause read them where did they go?
Overall Review: this was a very easy build, just had to set the mem speed, and format the silicon power in DISKMGMT.MSC there is a new bios 1.9 that might help solve any memory XMP problems. combo with aoi!!!
Pros: well, like the e8400 wolfdale and the i2500k sandy bridge; I think this cpu will take its place in that line. its just on of those things of timing and manufacturing w/the right specs coming together. I was gonna skip this cpu, and get the i9 because of the hard fixes for spec/meltdown. but if you read about the soft fixes for the i8's they are efficient for now. i could no wait for the 9's
Cons: only that its does not have the hard fixes for above. it easy to find your OC about 4.7 pretty quick and if you are on a tight PSU power budget like a 550-650watts; voltage really starts getting sucked up at about high on the clocks.
nice case to work with.
Pros: build q, this one does have the tempered glass side. lots of space and options. I mean you can configure this lots of ways. color is nice and well applied. everywhere you think there should be a pass though here....well this is. also the case cables are already routed for you in a nice way for a ATX board. with lots of room for any GPU. this is a very well thought out cause w/o a lot of the RGB fan fair, which I like myself. the handles are soild and you could lug this thing around very easy.
Cons: this is the base case. so if you want to mount a 240 its has to be in front, or a 120 on the back. that means you need to buy the top aoi mount; 25.00 bucks on coolermasterusa. should be noted this temper glass side does NOT come with the lock, just flat head twist.
Overall Review: its a big case its only about 2/12 inches smaller/taller then my HAF
combo buy w/i586ook
Pros: the 2018 version is different, why they mixed all the reviews together is misleading. I got this as a combo, and it been pretty hot here ambient wise, so my numbers are normal high. I dont see much room for a meaningful Oc, as at stock speeds its already 45-50 under 99% load for 12 hours. I will its a year have to upgrade to a 240 to drop the OC needed. the new socket block is much nicer then the old one copper size and height wise. its was very easy to put on, the pre-applied thermal was good, though it takes a few hours too work. so dont freak when your temps are a bit high at first, they will come down as the paste bonds. I think a push/pull might help with a bit more head room. the socket LED is bright but simple. build wise its pretty much what we expect from corsair.
Cons: its confusing because all the versions are lumped together even though there has been changes.
Overall Review: Imho I wouldn't run this on a i7k, or if you plan to drop anything other then a bump in OC you will need the 240.
