This review is from: BYTECC BRACKET-250 2.5" HDD/SSD Metal Mounting Kit
Pros: Black textured finish metal, comes with mounting screws for ssd & case. All the mounting holes lined up just fine with the ssd and the case's hd drive bay (an older Antec 1080) However...
Cons: The bracket will not work in the Coolermaster Cosmos case which has pull-out HD trays which only allows the use of the HD's bottom mounts.
Other Thoughts: Since the mistake was mine, I'm not going to penalize the product a star.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This card came out just in time as I was looking to upgrade. It runs cooler than the 780Ti it replaced, and quieter (more on that later). The gpu idles at 37°C bumping up to 40-45°C with casual non gaming use (watching a video on VLC, for example). GPU-Z reports 0% fan speed at those temps.
It has a back plate included for a bit more structural integrity, might even help dissipate the heat. All the games I've thrown at it runs smooth with all the eye candy turned on. And at the time of my purchase, it came with a free game (Batman: Arkham Knight)
Cons: I don't think it is a con per se so I'll put it under "Other thoughts"
Other Thoughts: This card runs quieter than the 780Ti that it replaced perhaps because the fans turn on much later. GPU-Z reported that the fan kicks in at a low rpm around 60°C gpu temp and the gpu would hit up to 80°C while gaming. I wasn't comfortable with that so I installed EVGA's PrecisionX 16 and set up a custom fan curve. Now the gpu temps maxes out at 50~60°C while gaming. I noticed that the gpu will idle 37°C with or without the fan, and will bump up to 40-45°C under non-gaming use with or without the fan. So, I just turn PrecisionX 16 off when not gaming.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: It's an SSD, and it's bigger than the one I'm replacing (Samsung 830)
Cons: Did not come with a mounting adapter like the 830 did.
Other Thoughts: I used Norton Ghost to clone the old 830 over to the new 850 EVO, but, I forgot to set the new drive to "Active" so it did not boot into Windows the first couple of tries. But once I caught and corrected my mistake, everything was good.READ FULL REVIEW
