A new home for an old drive
Pros: Easy to install, has an activity light, a cloth sleeve, comes with screws and a screwdriver.
Cons: screws are very, very tiny, almost didn't see them and I dropped one twice trying to get it in.
Overall Review: The cable is kinda weird, but it does get the job done. An interesting thing is that you can connect any of the two to the PC, and the third to the drive, and it will work. That came in handy on the D400 that this was connected to, as it only has 2 USB ports and they are not next to each other.
Adequeate, but...
Pros: 8GB's! Moving up from a 2 gigger, this was a lot of space. And diving memory prices make this quite affordable.
Cons: It died after a week of very, very light use and careful handling. It wasn't any kind of mega hyper fast, but since I'm not Jack Bauer, I'm not in that much of a hurry.
Overall Review: Maybe my first one was a fluke? There's nothing about my first one that makes me not want another. NewEgg continues to be class act when it comes for the rare RMA.
DOA
Pros: none
Cons: Showed artifacts instantly, so it's garbage.
Good budget CPU
Pros: Affordable, sips power and runs quite well.
Cons: none for this price point. You want fast, buy faster.
Overall Review: I bought this as part of a budget PC I was building for a senior customer. After building mostly gaming machines with i5\i7 CPU's I didn't expect much from this; but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it took to Windows, with a single 4GB stick; It was very responsive. No, she won't play BF4 at max settings, and won't re-encode video at blazing speeds but for a student computer or something to surf the internet and play some light games, this is a solid deal for the money.
Solid performance
Pros: Affordable and small enough to hide or be inconspicuous. Works really well in my condo, even up to the second floor on the opposite side.
Cons: For the asking price, really, none. It could be faster, but if you want faster, there are faster models in the same brand.
Overall Review: I'm running 3 laptops, 2 desktops and several phones through this and they all exhibit very little slowness or lag.
Semi-works
Pros: Read\Writeable in some of my computers.
Cons: Won't format in my win8 laptop. Won't even recognize in my win7 desktop. USB 3.0 and 2.0. My work computer is running Ubuntu 13.10 and can't format it either.
Overall Review: I wanted this to be a bootable drive so that I could run YUMI, or use it to install OS's. Since I can't format it, the usefulness of the drive is diminished. But it still does work in some computers, so not a total failure.
Impressive Customer Service
Most of the time, orders are routine and uneventful, and that's the hallmark of a good system. However, when things go awry, and the vendor responds and makes it right, that's the hallmark of a great organization. I'll gladly order from AIO again.
