Does this include a 6-pin to 8-pin power adapter? My PSU only has two 6-pin power connectors.

I don't use them, but it looks like it does. A female six pin and an eight pin male included.

Where are the psu connectors located, at the very end of the card or the side, I'm not sure this will fit in my mini-tower case? TY

The PSU connectors are located on the very end of the card. Not the side with the video connector spots. I would say that it will not fit in your mini tower case, or at least if it does, it won't fit comfortably and may cause your computer to have ventilation problems, such as mine.

Does this really use PCI express?

It fits into a PCI express x16 slot. That is clear from the product description. It requires a PCI express power connection from the power supply as well. They way you ask the question it appears you don't really know what PCI express is. It's just the name for a type of expansion slot on a motherboard.

Not interested in bottlenecking advice. This card happens to be the cheapest card that outperforms everything else at the time and I'd love to have it.

You should get a bugger psu. The recommended is 550 and it would be a big gamble to try it with your current one. When I got it I had a 460W psu and I bought another one that' was 630 and it works fine

What is the power supply requirement for this video card?

The maximum power consumption for an HD 6970 is 250 Watts. You would be better off buying an HD 7870 (175 watts) or an R9 270 (150 watts). Both of these cards use less power and generate less heat than the HD 6970 but perform approximately the same (or better).

When searching for a Power supply, don't just look at wattage. Look for a higher quality power supply with a high amp rating on the +12V rail. For a single card system, a higher quality 500W power supply is enough. A Corsair CS500 or above or any Seasonic made power supply would be a good.

will this work in a Lenovo h420 7752 model instead of the inboard intel graphic card ?

in order to confirm that it will fit, you can look at the mother board (often referred to as MOBO). If there is a PCI Express 2.1 x16 slot then you should be fine. the mother board will usually have the slots identified on it. If it doesn't specify, you can look up the motherboard specs by motherboard model number.

I know this isn't a yes or no answer, but if no one knows, it might be the easiest way to find the answer.

Would this be able to handle a dual monitor setup both running 1920x1080 60Hz?

Although I didn't have two 1920x1080's running at the same time, I had one 1920x1080 and one 1600x900. This ran exceptionally well, no problems. I think switching that up a bit will not be a problem. Just make sure you check the connections, for it is one hdmi and two DVI connectors.

I have 5 of those cards on a rig and the total consumption is about 950/980 w (I plugged it on a power meter)
including the mother board and the processor. so less than 200w

I have a Corsair CX500, 8GB RAM, Generic 1TB HDD, Intel 3470. Would I have enough power to run this card?

According to the specs from AMD:

550 Watt or greater power supply with one 150W 8-pin PCI Express® power connector and one 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connector recommended

For your particular setup it might work, depending on the power draw of the rest of your peripherals (fans, optical drives, USB powered devices.  A base system with the 6970, a single 7200 rpm HDD, the i5-3470 ivy bridge, 2 x 4GB DDR3, 2 x 120mm fans, a DVD-RW, and 1 usb powered device and nothing else would draw 488W at 100 load on the CPU and video card.

That is cutting it quite close on the CX500 power supply.  You do have the 2 x 6+2 pins PCIE cables and a single 12V rail that can handle 38A and 456W, so you might be ok, but know that if you run short on watts, you will blue screen as your i5 processor is fairly power hungry.   If you are FPS gaming on regular basis, running the 500W power supply at the top end of its capabilities will shorten its life.

I now run a pair of overclocked 6970s with a Corsair HX750 modular, but my old Antec 520W power supply was not enough to fully run a single 6970.  I had blue screen issues from time to time until I upgraded to a beefier PS.

Question 10

What is the difference between PCI Express and PCI Express 3.0?
Is it a function of the circuit board (Graphics card) or the mother board?

"PCI Express" is the peripheral interface.  "PCI Express 3.0" is the version of PCI Express.  Since we're not allowed to include links for some reason, if you do a Google (or whatever search engine) for "PCI Express defined", you'll see many web pages that can define it (including a wikipedia page).

Primarily, the higher the PCIe version number, the more bandwidth is available.  I don't have my boxes handy, and it seems PowerColors web page is having database issues.  Once they have their database problem resolved, you should be able to look this card up on their web page to see specifically which PCIe version it supports.
