Most Favorable Review

Pretty, pretty, pretty good

TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2
TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps, w/4 dBi High Gain Detachable Antenna, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, WEP, WPA/WPA2

Pros: This adapter is fast. I tested same computer with two different network settings: one with ethernet cable and one with this wireless card. Ethernet cable and router received a speed of 10 mbps down/ 1.5 mbps up. Wireless card received 8 mbps down and 1.6 mbps up. This is most certainly meant for gaming. Also, keep in mind that I used lightning fast cat 6 cable and sturdy linksys e2000 router.

Cons: Others say there are faster adapters for a better deal, too. This is a mid to high end adapter.

Overall Review: I received this with a free TP-LINK UC100 USB Cradle. So, worth it. Now, I don't need to worry about pushing my media center against the wall and breaking the wireless adapter or having it dangerously stick out of the front.

Most Critical Review

Customer service is awful

Linksys E2000 Wireless Router Selectable Dual Band Gigabit 802.11a/b/g/n 2.4/5GHz up to 300Mbps
Linksys E2000 Wireless Router Selectable Dual Band Gigabit 802.11a/b/g/n 2.4/5GHz up to 300Mbps

Pros: Products works..

Cons: Technical support is paltry: 1-year warranty expired on the same year, and they wouldn't help me increase my lan transfer speeds.

Overall Review: I wouldn't buy another linksys product. TP-Link appears to be a better choice. They also have 2-year+ warranty on all network products.

Highly intelligent feature

IN WIN BQS656.DD120BL Black Steel / Plastic Mini-ITX Desktop Computer Case 120W External Adaptor Power Supply

Pros: Pro: The ceiling on this case is so highly intelligent. Seldom do people stack PC's on top of each other due to heat problems. The mesh at the top of the case is ideal for pushing out heat which usually accumulates at the top of these long media PCs. I mean, heat getting stuck at the center of the Media PCs has long been a problem, imho. As a result, media PCs overcompensate for this accumulation by adding 2 large, side in-take fans (one 120mm on each side of case) and two small exhaust (two 80 mm next to each other). This works, but generally not good -- especially when one of these large mesh's can do the trick! Tilt the media pc, and exhaust still comes up from the top through the side of the case. Genius.

Cons: One caveat: Can't hurt to turn side air ducts into side air fans. My reason is the increase in air circulation still assists the internal components (e.g., video card, cpu heatsink and fan, and north and south heatsink) to move the stagnant, hot air up through the mesh at the top. More side fans, the better; that is, this will maximize air cooling through the plastic mesh at the top. One clairvoyant vision: turn back fans into in-take fans. With the mesh at the top, all fans need to turn inward.

Overall Review: for crying out loud, put the front ports back on the front, not at the top of the case. This is a media PC. When i plug my microsoft 360 controller ports into the PC, the controller plugs will stick out the top. My tv stand can do it, but i would imagine not many others can. front usb ports need to be usb 3.0, please. Why havn't all cases switched to this standard yet? understandable limitations (due to the small size of this case): what the heck happened to the 3.5 external drive? Case needs more room for a more powerful power supply. I want to stick a minimum of a 650-700 watt psu in here. Otherwise, fabulous work.

Please, put PSU position on other side!

APEVIA Black / Blue SECC Steel / Aluminum X-MASTER-BL/500 ATX Media Center / HTPC Case
APEVIA Black / Blue SECC Steel / Aluminum X-MASTER-BL/500 ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Lots of fans and cool case

Cons: The case can only fit an 8 inch long video card while bundled with a full-size ATX PSU. I could have opted for a microatx psu and put a 10 inch long video card instead, but I did not! Buyers beware, PSU placement in this case was very poor; instead, the psu should have been put on the adjacent corner of the case as not to affect the video card size. Power light is too bright. I disabled it by pulling the power from the motherboard. HDD light is nonexistent (even with power!).

Overall Review: Antec's bundled power supplies are always poor. I would prefer they didn't include a PSU with their case, and lowered the price of this product as an alternative. I'd also like to see an anti-static casing. I guess, aside from PSU location ebb, this is a great case (minus the PSU).

Dusty after no use!

nMEDIAPC ZE-C68 USB 2.0 3.5 Drive Bay, All-in-one Card Reader w/ USB Port
nMEDIAPC ZE-C68 USB 2.0 3.5 Drive Bay, All-in-one Card Reader w/ USB Port

Pros: Fast detection, bonus USB slot, and fits in a 2.5" drive.

Cons: 1. As everyone else has been saying: I need to put SD card upside down! 2. The card reader became dusty after two months of no-use; thus, unreadable. Here's my story: I inserted my SD card, PC asked me to format card before use (like card was brand new or something). This was strange because I knew I had information on the card. I took out card, and a a thick layer of dust covered the gold connectors. I had to blow the dust off the card and out of the device for everything to work. All in all, I would recommend preparing a can of air duster -- or heave a deep breath!

Overall Review: Excellent device, but I would prefer two USB ports in the front instead of one. In addition, please make them USB 3.0, which is backwards compatible with usb 2.0 and usb 1.1!

Many features

ASUS M5A88-M AM3+ AMD 880G USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Contrary to what others say, I believe this board identifies most to all cpus. This board arrived with BIOS 1401, which was updated by Asus at the time of 9/11/2012. So, if your CPU entered the market before this time, it will run on this board. I have an AMD FX-8120 Zambezi @ 3.1 ghz -- works great out of the box! In other words, I did not need to flash my bios. Flashing bios is very easy with asus' easyflash. I put bios on usb, load easyflash, and flash. That's it -- no dos! I now have Bios 1601. Everything is rock stable.

Cons: Lan drivers work fine, but problem exists after disabling and re-enabling. Lan disables without problems, but after re-enable, lan status is stuck at "identifying," and I get no internet connection. I need to log off or restart computer to fix, so, this appears to be a driver problem. consequently, i tried to update my lan drivers manually (directly from Realtek), and I was successful. But this did not fix my problem. I contacted Asus and they told me to downgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 7; I am not happy. Asus is also vague about their lan specifications. This may be an indicator that something is wrong. Also, another disadvantage is this board takes about 8 seconds to boot to bios. I was told by a computer technician that this is normal for some boards. This is a minor problem.

Overall Review: Yes, all rumors are true: this board can max out at 32 GB of ram -- not 16 gb as described. I have 4 x 8 gb DDR3 1600 corsair vengeance. IMHO, this is a big win.
