Quiet and Speed Controll
Pros: - Very quiet! - Great price - Fits in standard fan case locations - 3-pin PWM connector fit in standard motherboard 3-/4-pin connections. This allows the fan speed to be controlled, monitored, and adjusted by the motherboard.
Overall Review: I bought 3 fans to replace fans in my aging PC case. (One of my old fans had worn out and was extremely loud.) The old fans that came with my case plug into the power supply directly so there was no control or monitoring with the old fans. The new fans were great just to have the speed controllable. The price was reasonable enough so I decided to just buy 3 which worked out well since I have 3 spots on my motherboard for case fans. Min speed is 800 RPM and max is 7200 RPM (at least according to my motherboard). The fan(s) idle at about 1100 RPM under low load (web browsing, email, etc. no video). Very low noise if any from them. (Power supply fan is now the loudest fan in my PC.) Note: You may want to check your motherboard for fan connections before buying a PWM fan to make sure you can make use of it. It's probably standard these days for 3 fans in a case but it would be useful to check ahead of time. Other note: I'm considering buying these fans again the next time I build a PC. Quiet and worth spending the extra couple of dollars to reduce noise.
Does not meet my needs for 3 monitors
Pros: You can connect an HDMI monitor to a display port.
Cons: Does not meet my needs. I have a video card with 3 connections on it, one being a display port. Supposedly, I could run 3 HDMI monitors with the correct cable. However, this is not the right cable for this. I could only get 2 out of the 3 monitors to work at a time
Overall Review: I don't know too much about these adapters but I have seen some called "Passive" and others "Active". I believe that this one is Passive which is why it did not work for my monitors. Shame on them for not putting this information in the title. I spent hours trying to figure out why I could not run 3 monitors. I was lucky to find a newer revision of one the AMD-certified Active adapters, B086B-006B-2 from Accell. The active adatper allowed me to run 3 monitors (using Eyefinity). The cable was $30 instead of this one which was $15 but the extra cost was worth it. Unless you don't need multiple monitors, I would not recommend this adapter!
Great Linux Support
Pros: Kingston had good Linux support. One of the few manufactures that says so on the package. I haven't had any issues with their thumb drives, including this one. Works great for what I use it for.
Cons: It might be a little on the slow side but I haven't compared it to other thumb drives. If I cared about the speed, I would have gotten a higher end model anyway. The transfers seem to run very fast at first but slow done right at the end. I guess something like the data is written to buffer and then written to the flash is going on. Just something to keep in mind if you see a large amount of data transfer quickly and then it takes a while to continue.
Overall Review: I usually copy a few files that are a couple of gigabytes in size. It probably takes a minute or two. If you need a faster thumb drive, get one of the higher-end models.
Works Great
Pros: I was looking to upgrade to 1920x1080 resolution and these monitors were just perfect. These monitors are large enough at 23" and much less expensive than monitors at 24" inches and higher. Also, the 1ms (GTG) response is nice to have and hard to find in this price range. (GTG is Gray-to-gray response time. Black-to-black response time is probably longer.) I wasn't interested in speaker at first but I changed my mind after hooking up an HDMI cable. Overall, they have been great monitors.
Cons: The monitor turns a bright blue when my computer turns off the monitors and locks the screen. A message appears showing "No Signal Detected" which on other monitors is usually just a small message with a black background. It might be useful when first setting up the monitors but is really annoying anytime it goes to sleep. This happens when I run Linux but I think it happens in Windows as well. I don't think it's a driver issue but it could be.
Overall Review: The monitors have a white boarder instead of a black boarder. I thought this would bother me but it's actually been quite nice. The white matches the walls behind my monitors and make it easier to see the screen boarder. I may actually buy white monitors by default next time.
Great Cable
Pros: Works as expected. Nicely priced.
Cons: None
Works Great
Pros: The cable worked great. I was able to run my 2 video cards in CrossFire mode.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Make sure your motherboard has CrossFireX support (i.e. the chipset for it) before buying video cards and cables.
