Seiki 4K LED TV
Pros: No dead Pixels, Beautiful picture, Great Sound, ultra thin, nice glass base Nice glass front screen - not flimsy plastic
Cons: to achieve the 4K isn't an easy feat. the RF frequency for the volume on the TV is the same as the frequency to control my cable box, so every time I press a button on my cable remote the volume either goes up or down. EVERYTIME.
OK product, terrible price
Pros: Great wired and 5Ghz speed and performance. Lots of features.
Cons: The 2.4Ghz constantly drops out on both my laptops in different parts of my house- im only 10 feet away and I only get a range between 72-144MB/s. The wifi range for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz is terrible.
Overall Review: At this price range go for something else.
Lasted 5 years
Pros: All metal enclosure quiet fan large rubber mounts to keep harddrive noises quiet and vibration free
Cons: Died after 5 years off use, just stopped connecting to the computer, I tried different USB ports, Different PC .. same thing, intermittently turns on and the goes away. I originally thought the HDD died, but it turns out it was the enclosure.
Overall Review: for $40 it lasted 5 years, and didnt kill my HDD inside. I'd say it was worth it, so I'm placing an order for another one.
SilenX CPU cooler
Pros: The fan is quiet and moves air, I definitely recommend it for case fans.
Cons: Where do I start. I got this cooler while putting together an old Phenom build. It looks like it would be a pretty decent cooler! Boy was I wrong. I couldn't figure out why my cpu was getting so hot "i will give temp figures later"! its fully secured down and very very tight to the point it hurts your fingers to put the dam thing on. So I said well lets throw some money at it to see if it will help. I purchased 2 high CFM PWM fans with great static pressure and put them in push pull config and i also got some arctic silver thermal paste. well that didn't help it was idling at 38C and after a 15 minute load test temps peaked at 70C ... So i took the cooler off and put the stock one on and viola it idled at 26C and 48C at load. the cpu for reference was a Phenom II X4 965
Asus USB-AC53
Pros: Great little wireless USB adapter, It has all the wiresless bands to date, pick up my router very strong. install was a breeze also.
Cons: None
Lenovo E540
Pros: Solid constructed laptop. I upgraded the ram to 16GB 1866 crucial and the HDD to a Samsung 840 Pro SSD and now she boots in seconds. super fast The I5 and Intel HD 4600 GFX combined with my other upgrades, I am able to play most games on HIGH settings. Not ultra. But this is more then expectable for a laptop under $1,000. Cool red dots on the i in the Thinkpad logo
Cons: NONE
