Pros: Western Digital reliability, ease to install, also a good warranty. Relatively quick acces time for this kind of HDD.
Cons: Slow overall performance even quick access time, my last Momentus thin was an older version and was quicker with an average of 20mb/sec more. Only 8mb of cache and it's obvious when working hard a bit. Seems to be one of the two platers and electronic board from older 1tb scorpio... Felt exactly like that.
We hear a clicking sound each 5 seconds which made me agressive when trying to work with the laptop.
It's also noisy as hell in a laptop and we feel it spin and vibrate a bit the laptop, something I never felt before with last hdd. I don't know what WD hard drives have these day but this one like another kind from WD i bought recently was also noisy, very noisy. I was so much happy that I put back the Seagate. This one will be in a case for backup hidden somehwere I will use it the less I could.
Other Thoughts: I will think seriously what would be the future brand next time I'll buy another hard disk drive.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Access time, transfer rate and everything is fast. I got between 150-215mb/sec depending were the data is on the platter. I was thinking of an SSD, I'm happy with the velociraptor, there is much more capacity. There is a reliabilty we almost can't find in other brands.
Cons: I found this drive a bit pricy, because there is a huge price step between wd black and velociraptor of the same size. The performance step between both drive isn't that big, so you paid for reliabilty but it's not all justified.
The second things and the major IMHO, this is noisy as hell. It always make strong noises, even I'm in the next room I hear this hard drive scratching.
Other Thoughts: Think about putting the computer case a bit away or insulate it sound proof if you work just aside. Like I said, it's noisy.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Goes like big i5 for cheaper. Deliver honest and excellent performances. Multitasking is a charm, decent temperature and 'low' electricity consumption for performance it gives. I like it much over my last i3 4330. Cpu isn't the choking point anymore in my system. I play and work somewhat hard with my computer and everyting is going fine.
Cons: none !
Other Thoughts: Why having and paying for integrated GPU when you have graphic card ? I prefer 2mb of l3 cache and more instructions supported by this CPU. Also even it doesn't support hyperthreading, I don't feel there is 'lost' there. It's a work horse, I recommand it.READ FULL REVIEW
