i am new to pc gaming/building. i am looking for a beginner gaming pc, and i would like to know if this is a good beginner graphics card, and does this come in different colors?

Yes, some people may argue that the 7850 would be a better choice, but for a beginner gamer, this is an excellent graphics card. And if you look up just 7770 GHZ Edition, you might find some different companies that sell this graphics card, but they just have a different reference cooler, and theirs' might be a different color. Other than that, the MSI 7770 GHZ Edition does not come in a different color. Hoped this helps!

Will the HDMI and DVI each display at the same time when both connected to different devices?

Yes, with the AMD driver and the correct configuration in your OS, this device can simultaneously output signals to a DVI and HDMI monitor. If you want to output to more than 2 monitors, you will need native DisplayPort monitors or an active converter.

Question 4

Will this work with my motherboard?  How can I tell or found out before hand?  I don't want to pay for restocking or return shipment because some company (Powercolor) never well tested with their BIOS.

Hi Peter, if you have a PCI Express x16 slot on your motherboard it should be fine. If you know the make/model of your motherboard, the manufacturer should have more information on it on their website. This is a great card I might add, it's not as massive as some so you should have plenty of room on your board. You'll want to make sure your powersupply is enough for it too.

Will the PCI Express 3.0 fit into any pci slots? I'm not a techie. I don't know the difference between the Pci 2.1, 2.0 or the 3.0

PCI express 3.0 cards are backwards compatible with PCI express 2.0 boards with no loss of performance with most cards. PCI express 3.0 cards will also work on a PCI express 1.0 board, but with significant performance losses.

Does this graphics card need to have a separate power plugin (besides the PCI port)?

Yes, it requires a 6-pin power plug but includes a dual 4-pin to 6-pin adapter. I think it draws 40-60 watts max.

Will this card work for gaming on 43inch HDTV,1280x720 plasma I play combat arms on steam and I want to know if this card will give me good frame rates?

So. I took the time and found some solid deals that were better than the 7770 1gb model and all under 200 dollars and all crossfire or sli friendly. I linked about 6 different cards which were on sale and or good price options. Then newegg refused me access to send this saying I cannot share personal information when the links were form their site lol o well. The 270 is a good card it is the new 7870 and is better in some regards and since the the 7870 is hard to find and just as expensive I would recommend this card there are a few that are around 180$. Thent he 650ti boost is no longer being sold on newegg so I found a 660 from PNY which was around 180 and a really nice card. Also found a 7850 from powercolor that was good buy and around 145 after promo is entered that is probably the best price for card out of the lot...but if you have the extra money I suggest the 270 or 660 for under 200$ options. im building a laptop from scratch, is  this only for desktops or could it fit in both?

If you need to ask that question you are not at all qualified to "build a laptop from scratch." I highly suggest that you do lots of intense research before you move forward in whatever it is you are doing, before you waste lots of money.

This card is for desktops only, unless you are investing in some sort of bizarre interface unit for a laptop (which ruins the portability factor).

What power supply is recommended for this?

The box calls for minimum requirements of 450w or greater.  That being said I'm using it in a shuttle system with a 300 w power supply.  The system has a sandy bridge I7 witch is has fairly low power usage compared to other manufactures processors.  My son games on it a lot and it does a decent job no issues.  I'm not recommending to go lower but in my case works fine probably depends on system
